🍫👩‍🍳Baking Rocky Road with the residents at Holmehurst Residential Home🍫👩‍🍳

It was a joyful, hands‑on activity that brought everyone together 👨‍🍳✨.

The residents enjoyed mixing chocolate, marshmallows, and biscuits 🍫🧈🍪, sharing stories and laughter as they worked. The simple, sensory experience made it accessible for all, and the finished treats were proudly enjoyed with a cup of tea ☕🍰.

It was a lovely way to encourage creativity, connection, and a real sense of achievement among the group 💛.

Holmehurst Residential Home is looking for a Senior Care Assistant to join our caring and supportive night team.

💙 Role responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality, person-centred care throughout the night
• Support and supervise care staff on shift
• Assist with care plans, records, and medication (where trained)
• Ensure residents’ comfort, safety, and dignity overnight

✅ What we’re looking for:
• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards)
• Previous experience in a care setting
• Reliable, compassionate, and confident working independently at night

Over the Christmas period, the residents enjoyed watching a pantomime, Annie.

They enjoyed the laughter and also participating with the songs and clapping for the actors.

There was nothing quite like the magic of Christmas at Holmehurst. Our residents had spent the day surrounded by festive cheer, warm laughter, and the twinkle of Christmas lights. With carols playing gently in the background and everyone was dressed in their holiday best, the atmosphere has been full of smiles and excitement.

The Halloween season is amongst us 👻
Holmehurst is hosting a Halloween party on 31st October 1pm.
Games, quizzes and bobbing for apples. 🍏
We are also raising money for our lovely residents, there is a chance to win a jar of sweets or a spooky Halloween hamper. Please see the office for tickets to win.
