Hospice at Home Carlisle & North Lakeland

Hospice at Home Carlisle & North Lakeland Hospice at Home provides free care and support to patients and families in the home. This page is managed by the Fundraising Team, Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm.

Hospice at Home is a local charity that provides high quality, specialised care for patients with life-limiting or life-threating illnesses, whilst also supporting their families and carers. The Charity's aim always has been โ€“ and always will be โ€“ to provide a choice at the end of life and enable a peaceful and dignified death at home. We are there for people at their most vulnerable and give comf

ort and reassurance when it is most needed. All of our services are free of charge to our patients their family and carers. This would not be possible without the kindness and generosity of the local community who raise funds and generate important awareness of the organisation. The charity receives a grant from the NHS which covers a small percentage of costs, and the rest needs to be raised within our local community.

Life can feel overwhelming at times, especially when facing illness, caring for someone you love, coping with grief, or navigating loss and uncertainty. At Hospice at Home Carlisle & North Lakeland, we know that emotional wellbeing is just as important as physical care.
Every day, our teams provide compassionate support not only for patients, but for families and loved ones too โ€” offering comfort, reassurance, bereavement support and a listening ear when itโ€™s needed most.
But we can only continue this vital work thanks to the kindness and generosity of our community. ๐Ÿ’›

What a truly wonderful weekend at the The Dalemain World Marmalade Awards & Festival ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿ’›

A huge thank you to everyone at Dalemain Mansion & Historic Gardens for yet another incredible event. Your continued support, warmth and generosity towards Hospice at Home Carlisle & North Lakeland means so much to us all.

Thank you to everybody who attended the festival, stopped by our stand to say hello, shared kind words, made a donation, or took the time to learn more about the care we provide across our community. Every conversation and every contribution helps us continue supporting local patients and families with hospice care at home.

And finally, a very special thank you to our amazing volunteers ๐Ÿ’›
From helping on the stand to welcoming visitors with smiles and enthusiasm throughout the day, we simply couldnโ€™t do it without you.

It was a fantastic celebration filled with community spirit, kindness and, of course, plenty of marmalade! ๐ŸŠโœจ

For many people, one of the hardest things about death and dying is simply not knowing what to expect.

Fear often grows in silence โ€” but understanding can bring reassurance. ๐Ÿ’›

This Dying Matters Awareness Week, Hospice UK has created helpful information and resources to support people wanting to learn more about dying, what happens at the end of life, and how to support someone who is dying.

Knowledge helps reduce fear.

Conversation helps reduce stigma.

โ›ณ๐Ÿพ Can your business help make our very first Carlisle Charity Golf Day a huge success?

On Friday 29th May 2026, weโ€™ll be welcoming teams to Carlisle Golf Club for what promises to be a fantastic day of fundraising, networking and community spirit in support of Hospice at Home Carlisle & North Lakeland. ๐Ÿ’›

As we prepare for the event, weโ€™re looking for local businesses who may be able to support us with donations for the day, including:

๐Ÿบ Beers and refreshments for golfers
๐Ÿท Bottles of wine for prizes and raffles
๐Ÿฅ‚ 4 bottles of fizz for special prize winners
๐ŸŽ Raffle and tombola prizes
๐Ÿง Homemade baked goods and treats

A huge thank you already to Foster from who has kindly offered to donate some goodies for the day. Weโ€™d love to see our incredible business community rally together and help support what promises to be a fantastic event for a vital local cause.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help us create an incredible experience while raising vital funds to support local people living with life-limiting illness across North and East Cumbria.

With more than 80% of our funding raised through the generosity of our community, support from local businesses truly makes a difference and helps ensure we can continue providing compassionate hospice care at home when it matters most.

Weโ€™re also looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help on the day, including at our Halfway House, Golf Simulator and our fun-filled 17th Hole party station! ๐ŸŽ‰
