🌿 How Often Should I Be Getting a Massage?
As a massage and holistic therapy practitioner, one of the questions I’m asked most frequently is: “How often should I book a massage?” The truth is, optimal frequency depends on your lifestyle, stress levels, and any specific concerns you’re addressing.
If you get a massage once a year, it can be relaxing, however it can’t undo a lifetime of muscle tension/knots.
✨ For General Wellness & Stress Relief:
I recommend a massage every 3-4 weeks. This helps regulate the nervous system, improve circulation, and maintain healthy muscle function before tension builds up again.
✨ For Chronic Pain, Muscle Tightness, or Postural Imbalances:
A more structured approach is beneficial. Sessions every 1–2 weeks can significantly accelerate progress, allowing the body to adapt and release tension patterns more effectively.
✨ For Athletes or Highly Active Individuals:
To support performance, recovery, and injury prevention, massages weekly or bi-weekly are ideal. Consistent soft tissue work helps improve flexibility, reduce inflammation, and support muscular resilience.
