I'm using the photo of these lovely flowers from a patient, fitted into a cancellation today for the photo to update regards t'interweb hoohar we've had this week. πŸ˜–πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ
The new hub arrived, and Wi-Fi and phone lines were restored. Hooray!
We do of course still have a backlog of calls, messages and emails to wade through. While Liz has gotten through a good chunk of them already, there's still a fair bit to go, as we were off work for 2 weeks and then this week has been a communication write-off in the most part.
Thank you all for you patience and understanding and HUGE thanks also to Liz for her hard work dealing on the phone with BT for close on 2 and a half hours on Tuesday 🫨trying to get things sorted and for managing the more limited and slightly guddlier access (cos we aren't used to using that one!) of the clinic diary via the mobile platform.
We'll try to get back to everyone by the end of 29// 25.
If you have messaged us and haven't heard from us by that date please get back in touch, as we're not sure if or what level of contacts made with us have been lost with the Internet failure.

So, update about the clinic wifi failure... after at least 2 and a half hours on the phone, Liz has got BT to sort a mobile hot-spot wifi thing for us and the phone line will connect to her phone and we have limited access to the clinic diary via this link too.
A new hub is on its way to us now.
Liz will be wading through messages, emails etc. etc. plus arranging follow-up appointments for patients from today and over this week until the new hub is in place and working.
The Internet keeling over has and will continue to slow that process.
Also, do bear in mind around 20 messages were left this morning alone, before Liz finished work at 1pm and there's 2 weeks of messages, emails etc to go through as is usual after a holiday, so please can I ask you all to be patient if you've already left a message, but haven't heard back yet.
Please give Liz this week to get back to you, and if you've already left a message, try not to call us again this week. Thank you, and we are sorry for this unexpected inconvenience.

We're on our summer holidays until Tuesday 19th August. We'll get back to all messages left on all formats as soon as we can, in as close to the order that the messages arrived to us as possible.
Please bear with us when we're back, as our Liz will be wading through the messages as I wade through the feetb in clinic!
Thanks for your patience and understanding πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘£πŸ’—πŸ‘£πŸ˜Š

Do keep the clinic number in your phone so you can reach us easily if you get caught up in traffic/bus delay in this latest effect to the additional road closures coming into effect next week.
(It's 01228 522185; just to save you looking it up, dear patients 😏)

It means diversions will be in place and there is a predicted increase in congestion around the junction of Botchergate and The Crescent, which is operating at reduced capacity due to temporary traffic lights.

11/03/2025

As the photo says, there's no clinic from today, Tuesday 11 th March, until Friday 14th March. Liz will be covering calls and messages remotely in the main, just popping into the clinic occasionally. Therefore, please don't go into the clinic to book in person this week or you are likely to miss us, and we don't want that for you.
Susan is back to work Monday 17th, and the clinic diary is rather full with us having to reschedule 4 days of clinic appointments to let me attend the funeral and support my wee Daddio. πŸ’™πŸ’—πŸ’™
Thanks to everyone we have had to move for being so kind and understanding with this unavoidable disruption to your appointments. Thanks also to Liz for managing the rescheduling. πŸ’—πŸ‘£πŸ’—

Our Podiatry colleagues from their Cockermouth clinic have just shared this post and I commented on it how much I love to get a set of feet like this into my clinic too, while feet getting in this pickle isn't ideal.
The reason we Pods don't baulk at feet in a pickle like this is we know what a great difference can make fairly easily . Well, easy when you know how anyway!
With a good bit of time spent; we often need 40 to 60 minutes depending on that person and their wee tootsies, but in that time we can get those feet comfy and safe for the person.
Nae bother at a'!!! πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘£πŸ’—πŸ’™
One of my gents, who sadly no longer with us, used to say in his big bass-baritone Cornish accent after his feet were done, "Ooh, I've got my fairy feet back!" It never failed to make me laugh, bless him. πŸ€£πŸ‘£πŸ’™πŸ˜Š
Never be embarrassed with "the state of your feet".
Honestly, us Podiatrists are virtually unshockable when it comes to foot problems. With almost 33 years of qualified clinical practice under my belt, I can practically guarantee I've seen worse than your feet- I've certainly seen worse pickles than these feet pictured, as will be so for Adele and her team and all the Pods local to us in Carlisle too. There's a good few of us HCPC Registered Podiatrists ( look for D.PodM, B.Sc Podiatry/B.Sc Podiatry(hons) and find us in the HCPC Register - Jennifer & team, Gill, Shona & team, Aileen, Michelle, Ray, Julie, Zoe, Kirsty and Ben (I don't think I've missed anyone, sorry Pod Squad - if Ihave, message me and I'll editπŸ˜ŠπŸ‘£πŸ’—πŸ’™)

The clinic is closed until 24 Feb for the half term holiday as was planned. Any messages sent in the interim will be dealt with on our return from 24th February.
However with the passing of my Mum, the clinic will inevitably have a bit of disruption, which we will try to keep to a minimum, and we thank you all in advance for your understanding as we get through this sad time πŸ’—

Liz is still unwell, so I'm in clinic solo until further notice, certainly for the rest of this week. Get well soon Liz.
Please bear with me if you have messaged us - I will not be able to reply as quickly as Liz can.
I'm running full clinics, so I will have limited time to call anyone; likely it will be at the end of a clinical day, bear in mind I have to get the messages off the system first before I can then call and that takes time too! Plus I have to get home for my two and the pets.
Thank you in advance for your patience, Susan
