Hi All. So I've had a very productive day today, amongst other things I've got my treatment room back into order and that has had a very calming effect 😊
It also got me thinking about the origins of my business name. At first glance it probably seems really obvious where New Dawn Holistics came from but it's much deeper than that and for me it's symbolises a 15 month long journey.
In late 2024 when I was holidaying somewhere I had been several times before, I was suddenly hit with raging anxiety, seemingly out of nowhere. I'm a confident traveller and I had never felt like this before and I actually ended up leaving and coming home early. With the help of a good friend I came to realise that this was the start of a large number of very unpleasant perimenopause symptoms. Anxiety, insomnia, a total lack of appetite, hot flushes, stomach upsets, low mood, lack of confidence, sudden crying fits and stiff/sore joints to name just a few.
As well as taking a fairly traditional medical approach, i chucked everything I could at the problem. I started with Access bars and reiki and then started exploring other complementary therapies such as reflexology. What I found, after many months of exploration is that, for me, a combination of HRT, mental health support and complementary therapies were going to be my way forward.
As well as learning a lot about myself I have also undertaken a lot of training in those therapies that I found most beneficial during this time. More than that, I found a new way of being. Although I still struggle with symptoms I have largely managed to flip how I see things and this I genuinely believe is as a result of what access bars and reiki have taught me😍
So where did the name New Dawn Holistics comes from :
1. Obviously, it's my name, not so original there 😆
2. This signifies a 'new dawn' in my life
3. I feel like a new (and better) version of myself
