As part of the General Medical Services Contract in Wales, we are required to gather data on our practice activity to report to Welsh Government.

Below is a summary of the information we need to supply together with an explanation. However this is only a snapshot of the work that is covered by the team here at Coach & Horses Surgery.

Will Mackintosh has challenged himself by taking on the Marathon at The Long Course Weekend 2025 to raise funds for the District Nursing Team 🚲

Will said: “I am a local GP and work as a clinical lead in the primary care team. I am a keen runner and want to get back into marathon running after a ten-year break.

“I am passionate about supporting and developing primary and community services and wanted to use this run to raise awareness and funds for my district nursing team who do vital work for our patients.”

‼️ New computer system ‼️

As you are aware we have recently migrated to a new computer system and are still trying to get to grips with the huge change. Things may take a little longer for staff to sort for yourself but please bear with us as we are all still training and getting used to it 😊

PATIENT NOTICE‼️

As per our previous post we are undergoing a major migration to our new clinical computer system, which starts today. We are working closely with our new provider and Digital Heathcare Wales to ensure the smooth running of this.

However due to limited access to your electronic medical record, the GP availability will be for EMERGENCIES ONLY on some dates. If your problem is urgent you will be triaged by the duty doctor.

Dates affected:

Thursday 12th June : On Call Duty Doctor available for EMERGENCIES ONLY

Friday 13th June : On Call Duty Doctor available for EMERGENCIES ONLY

Monday 16th and Tuesday 17th June : On Call Duty Doctor available for EMERGENCIES ONLY

We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience this causes to our patients.

Please be kind to our staff who are trying their best to help you whilst training on a new clinical system. We operate a zero tolerance policy and abuse will not be tolerated to our staff.

General Practices across Wales are changing computer systems.

It’s now our turn - during the month of June we will be changing our clinical computer system. However in the lead up to this change taking effect and to facilitate the transition, we will be offering a reduced number of routine appointments/clinic appointments, and on some dates, due to limited access to your electronic medical record, the GP availability will be for EMERGENCIES ONLY.
