As the days grow shorter and the nights get longer, many parents notice their mood dipping too. This can be linked to Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), a type of depression that happens at certain times of the year, usually in autumn and winter.
For those experiencing perinatal mental health challenges, SAD symptoms can feel even worse. Fatigue, low mood, anxiety and isolation can all overlap, making this season especially tough.
Gentle walks in daylight, light therapy lamps, soft routines, and talking openly can help. If symptom persist then talking to your GP can also be beneficial.
You don’t have to carry this alone. PANDAS is here to support you through every season. At PANDAS, we’ll walk with you .
