MEDICINES WASTE IN ANGUS
Patient experience survey
🧑‍⚕️💊
Each year Angus Health & Social Care Partnership spends a significant amount of money on medicines.

Some of these medicines go unused. This funding could support vital front-line services.

Please share your experiences of using medicines and their impact on the environment by completing this survey:

Got norovirus? This is one of the most common stomach bugs and usually clears up by itself in a few days. There’s no cure so the best thing to do is stay at home and let it run its course.

You should have plenty of fluids, such as water or fruit juice to avoid dehydration and, if you feel like eating, plain foods like soup, rice, pasta and bread. Take paracetamol for fever or aches and get plenty of rest. You can also use special rehydration drinks from pharmacies if you have signs of dehydration, such as a dry mouth or dark urine.

Stay off work or school until 48 hours after your symptoms have cleared.

Visit www.keepwellinwinter.scot.nhs.uk for advice on how to care for yourself at home.

Take care out there! 🥶

An amber weather warning is in force with further snow and freezing temperatures forecast for parts of Tayside.

Plan ahead, take extra care if you need to travel, and be prepared for changing conditions.

If out and about, watch out for icy conditions. Follow Smarty's Walk Like a Penguin tips to avoid winter slips!

GP surgeries are closed from 1-4 January. If you have a non-urgent health issue over the festive holidays, please wait until your GP surgery reopens or contact a local community pharmacy.

Pharmacies can provide advice, support and treatment for minor ailments such as a cough, cold or sore throat, stomach complaints, or aches and pains. You can check pharmacy opening times at https://tinyurl.com/bdzck4yw

www.nhsinform.scot also offers a quick and easy way to find answers to most common health questions, and includes symptom checkers.

If you think you need A&E, but it’s not life-threatening, call NHS 24 on 111 day or night.

If it’s an emergency, you should call 999 or go to A&E. Please do not attend A&E with a problem that you would normally see your GP with. This will allow A&E to concentrate on patients with emergency conditions.

There’s more information on our website www.keepwellinwinter.scot.nhs.uk
