The Grange's 10th Annual Charity Golf Day is coming up very soon! 25th of September to be exact.

The event is run to fundraise to support people living at The Grange and Wheatfield Drive to live enriched, fulfilled and happy lives.

It is taking place at Chart Hills which is a championship golf club in England, located in Biddenden, Kent, and is first Signature Sir Nick Faldo-designed golf course in Europe. The championship course and clubhouse boast picturesque views across 200 acres of oak woodland and lakes. Teams who take part will receive breakfast, lunch, and 18 holes on this scenic golf course.

We are looking to secure the last 4 teams for this event, so if you know anyone who would like to take a team, then please get them to call 01372 841 151.

Please share with your friends, families and anyone else that you can think of that might be interested.

Thank you 💜

Phoebe was just 18 when she came to QEF’s Care and Rehabilitation Centre (CRC) after a catastrophic series of seizures put all her plans on hold.

Today you’d never know that Phoebe had suffered brain damage, thanks to the outstanding personalised care she received meant. Without compassionate supporters like you, that simply wouldn’t have been possible.

Before the seizures, Phoebe had been excelling in her A-levels, having fun with friends and looking forward to the future. When Phoebe first came to the CRC, she was struggling to speak, unable to grip with her right hand and had one wandering eye. Nevertheless, her feisty, bubbly character shone through.

In Phoebe’s speech and language sessions she found it easier to express herself by singing. So together with neurological music therapist Kae we capitalised on her love of music. One of her aims was to remember all the words to the song ‘Linger’ and perform it in front of family and staff. 🎶

Phoebe’s confidence, language and motor skills all improved as she sang and played the ukulele. At the same time, we worked to improve her reading and writing, while occupational therapists Mark and Sandra tapped into Phoebe’s creativity, through cooking and craft.

It’s our teamwork which makes the CRC special. And you’re a vital part of our team. Because without you, we couldn’t turn lives like Phoebe’s around.

There’s never been a better time to give, because ESP Utilities Group and two generous individuals have kindly agreed to match donations raised, up to £10,000. So every £1 you give to this appeal will be worth £2.

You can donate through the link here: https://www.qef.org.uk/appeal/phoebes-matched-giving-appeal/

We are delighted to announce that we are the new headline Charity Partner for the Bacchus Wine Half Marathon and 10k for 2025!

Would you like to take on an amazing challenge whilst raising funds to support disabled people?

Take part in Bacchus Half Marathon or 10k on the 7th September 2025. Flying can be a daunting prospect for disabled people, as it's a very difficult environment to test and try out before committing to a flight. QEF's Tryb4uFly service aims to empower disabled people, so they can make informed choices and be more confident about flying.

One example of this is Daniel, who had severe cerebral palsy, passed away five years ago, leaving behind a legacy of joy and resilience. Before this, we were privileged enough to have played a crucial role in Daniel’s life. Daniel and his family came for an assessment where we provided the support and resources needed for Daniel and my family to enjoy holidays and adventures together, something they had been told might not be possible.

His sister Rachel said:

"Daniel loved his holidays, they brought so much happiness and joy into his life and it wouldn't of been possible for us to take him on a plane without the help of QEF"

As a result, they were able to enjoy some amazing holidays as a family, and really make the most of their time together. We are so honoured to have played a part in that experience.

If you would like to support people like Daniel and his family to have the opportunity to travel the world, then please consider setting up regular giving with us: https://www.qef.org.uk/get-involved/donate/dd/
