Prohodna Cave (Проходна пещера), famously known as “The Eyes of God” (Очите на Бога), is one of the most mystical and iconic natural landmarks in Bulgaria. Located in the Iskar Gorge, near the village of Karlukovo, in the Lukovit Municipality of northern Bulgaria, it’s not only a geological marvel but also deeply tied to spiritual and symbolic interpretations.

These are two large symmetrical holes in the ceiling of the middle chamber of the cave.
✨ Natural Wonder
• The holes were formed by erosion and water flow over thousands of years.
• They are nearly perfectly oval and symmetrical, and when viewed from below, they look like a pair of giant eyes staring down from the heavens.
💫 Spiritual & Mystical Interpretations
• Many believe the “eyes” resemble divine eyes, watching over the Earth—hence the nickname “The Eyes of God”.
• The light entering through them creates a mystical, almost otherworldly atmosphere, especially during sunrise or full moon nights.
• Used as a spiritual pilgrimage site, a place for meditation, silence, and energy practices.

• Energetic Center: Many claim the cave radiates a strong spiritual energy, and it’s sometimes used for yoga, meditation, and even sound healing sessions.
• Symbol of Awakening: A lot of visitors report feeling something “shift” inside them—like an opening or realization—when standing under the Eyes.
