Walking Month + Trek26 = A Cause Close to My Heart (and Feet!)

This weekend I’m taking on Trek26—a 26-mile walk to raise awareness and support for the Alzheimer’s Society. It’s an incredible cause, and also a real test of endurance, especially for the body!

Long-distance walking is amazing for physical and mental health, but it can also come with challenges like plantar fasciitis, shin splints, hip or lower back pain—all things I see regularly in clinic.

As an osteopath, I understand how important it is to keep the whole body moving well, especially when your feet are doing the miles. Whether you’re training for a trek or just enjoying a daily walk, osteopathy can help prevent and manage injuries, improve mobility, and keep you walking comfortably.

Think of me on Saturday and if you’re walking this month too, make sure you’re looking after your body!

May is National Walking Month – let’s get moving!
Walking is one of the simplest and most effective ways to support your overall health – and it’s something I often recommend as an osteopath.

Regular walking can:
• Improve joint mobility
• Boost circulation
• Support spinal alignment
• Ease tension and stress

As an osteopath, I see the positive impact that gentle, consistent movement has on the body – and walking is a brilliant first step (literally!).

This month, why not challenge yourself to walk a little more each day? Your body – and mind – will thank you. And if you’re experiencing pain or stiffness that’s holding you back, osteopathy can help.

Need support getting back on your feet? Let’s chat.

Ever wondered what an Osteopath actually does?

In the UK, Osteopathy is a regulated healthcare profession focusing on the body’s musculoskeletal system (that’s bones, muscles, and joints!).
We use hands-on techniques to improve mobility, ease tension, and enhance your body’s natural ability to heal.
Think of it as a holistic way to keep you moving, feeling good, and living your best life without nagging aches and pains.
If you’ve ever wanted a more tailored, whole-body approach to health and wellbeing, Osteopathy might be just what you need!
