Who We Are: North West Leicestershire GP Federation 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

We are a federation of 12 local GP practices, dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-focused healthcare to over 114,000 people in our community 🏥💙. Formed in 2014, North West Leicestershire GP Limited brings together local practices to work collaboratively, offering additional services and improving care for all 🌍.

Since 2019, we have also managed the North West Leicestershire Primary Care Network (PCN) and various clinical services, including the Leicestershire Women’s Health Hub 🌸.

But what is a Primary Care Network (PCN)? 🤔

A Primary Care Network is a group of GP practices working together to enhance local care. It allows us to deliver better, more personalised services to patients, especially with the increasing demand and staff shortages.

Did you know there are some physical and mental health services that you can refer yourself to directly for treatment, without needing an appointment at your GP practice first These services include physiotherapy, weight management, podiatry, and audiology.

Self-referring to services means that you can make appointments at times that are convenient for you.

The NWL Social Prescribing team have organised a Menopause event. Group events like this help empower patients to take control of their own health, better understand the menopause transition, and make informed choices about their care.

Since launching the WHH, we have seen a significant increase in HRT prescribing, while also achieving a 24% reduction in secondary care referrals—a real testament to the impact of proactive, community-based care

Scan the QR code on the poster to register for the event for EACH INDIVIDUAL attending, to ascertain accurate numbers for health and safety given that the event will be held at Whitwick and Coalville Leisure Centre.

Flu vaccine appointments are now available to book starting 3rd October. Eligible patients will be starting to receive their booking links via text message.

Patients who would like to have the COVID and the Flu Vaccines at the same time will need to call the practice to book their appointment. COVID and Flu are separate clinics.

If you are having problems with the booking link or would prefer to speak to someone to book the vaccines, please call us.

As widely reported, the Winter Fuel Allowance is being withdrawn from all older people except those receiving Pension Credit.

Currently, it is estimated that over 800,000 households across the UK, who are eligible for Pension Credit, may be missing out on this vital support.

Aged 6 months to 18 years, in an at-risk group
Adults over 18, in an at-risk group
All Over 65 year olds.
Pregnant women
