Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) for weight loss

Dear patients,
We are getting a lot of interest and phone calls regarding today’s headline that Mounjaro will be available from GP practices for patients.

While this is fantastic news for a lot of our patients, we are still waiting for guidance from Surrey Heartlands ICB to understand how this will be implemented and hence cannot yet prescribe tirzepatide for weight management. A service is due to be launched across Surrey Heartlands in the next couple of weeks.

Patients who meet the initial cohort 1 national criteria (individuals must have a BMI of 40 or above AND at least 4 of the 5 health conditions listed in the attached picture) will be contacted by the practice automatically when the service has started. Please do not book appointments for this reason alone.

We have partnered with Holly Health to offer patients 12 months of free habit coaching (to help sleep, exercise, eating and mental wellbeing).

The app may serve as an extra tool to help feel physically and mentally better.

COVID SPRING BOOSTER WALK-IN CLINIC
Eligible patients can attend Townhill Medical Practice on Saturday 26th April between 10am - 12pm for their spring booster.

The vaccine is only available if you:
- are aged 75 or over (including those who will be 75 by 17 June 2025)
- adults who have a weakened immune system because of a health condition or treatment
- live in a care home for older adults

Please do not attend if you do not meet the above criteria.
