Good Luck to Ruby and Silver Gallop Girls who are travelling down to Lincoln today for Show jumping.

Silver enjoyed a maintenance massage. I was then able to use the kinesiology tape to provide support whilst travelling.

The tape used is from Equine K Taping UK
This tape is a stretchy breathable tape, latex free perfect for sensitive skin.

❤️ 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧 After spending time with my family and bringing Willow into the world, it's sadly time for her to start nursery. Willow currently comes to work with me everyday, just like Imogen did. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧❤️

Meet Thomas, 17hh Warmblood. Thomas loves to SJ but has recently had to have some veterinary treatment. He loves his massage sessions and we are hopeful that with regular massage and remedial shoeing Thomas will continue to stay sound and supple and be back out there competing very soon.

During a massage endorphins are released by the pituitary gland, these are the body’s natural feel good hormones. The release of endorphins suppresses stress hormones, such as cortisol and adrenaline. Endorphins can also have an analgesic effect, reducing the sensation of pain. The reduction of pain leads to a more relaxed state and can attribute to the effect you are seeing.

Another effect of endorphin release is a reduction in blood pressure. Reduced blood pressure suggests a more efficient circulation that is putting less pressure on the cardiovascular system. You are likely to notice longer, deeper breaths and a reduced heart rate. Both of which can make a horse sleepy and more relaxed. Heart rate is an easy parameter to measure to help understand how a horse is reacting to any situation.

😊More new faces this week for treatments.😊

2 very different horses to treat, Luna at the start of her career a very chilled relaxed character and Mia who is now a retired event horse who can be quite stressy.

Both horses reacted differently to treatments, Luna found the session really relaxing whereas Mia was a little unsure but there were certainly moments she relaxed and looked to enjoy it and go with it.
