Engelhard Lodge is a family-run residential care home that strives to provide outstanding care and a safe haven for the elderly, helping them to live with dignity and independence during their golden years. We specialise in respite care, dementia care and end-of-life care - using our experience and specialist knowledge to ease the suffering of people with terminal conditions.

The residents have grown these enormous sunflowers, which are now 11foot tall!

They look absolutely glorious, and flowering in abundance. But best of all, the bees are loving them!

Our busy bakers! This week they made delicious banana bread with Nutella swirled throughout the sponge. It was divine and very quickly devoured!

Chris and Laura enjoyed a lovely stroll around Cawston this afternoon. They wandered along Marriott’s Way, chatting about how the path used to be part of an old railway line. Along the way, they used a bird identification app which picked up the songs of Blackbirds, Chaffinches, Chiffchaffs, Greenfinches, and Long-tailed T**s.

Their walk took them to Cawston Church, which they’d been talking about earlier, curious about when it was built. Afterwards, they followed a charming trail of self-seeded Hollyhocks winding through the heart of the village. Cawston is well known for its stunning Hollyhocks, and they’re just a week or two away from reaching full bloom — a proper sight to look forward to.

Residents have been busy making their own jewellery. They have rolled strips of paper around kebab sticks, secured with glue, and then threaded the dried beads onto wool. We think they look fab!

Our lovely residents have been making the most of the glorious weather by spending time out in our newly landscaped gardens.

A particular favourite area is the raised flower beds, where residents have been marvelling at the outstanding tulip varieties 😍
