🌿 Nourishing Traditions 🌟

The clearest path for me through the dense, confusing forest 🌳 of nutritional advice and ever-changing fads is traditional eating. Across all cultures, you’ll find common practices like fermenting foods 🥒 and nose-to-tail eating 🐄. Why? Because these methods were designed to extract the maximum nutrition, especially when it was most needed.

In winter ❄️, we need warming, strengthening foods 🍲 to keep us going. For those with distressed guts, this is even more crucial. Nutrient-dense food becomes essential because poor gut health often means reduced absorption of nutrients.

🤝 Reconnecting with Tradition 🕰️

So, where do we find these recipes? One way is by reconnecting with old family traditions 🏡. My husband grew up in Michigan, USA 🇺🇸, where the freezing winters 🥶 called for hearty meals. His dad would make a massive pot of chilli 🌶️ and leave it out on the veranda, where it would semi-freeze. My husband and his hungry siblings would help themselves throughout the day.

I’ve adapted this recipe for distressed guts: cutting out the beans and adding nutrient-dense ingredients like chicken liver, lamb kidney, and lamb heart, blended seamlessly with vegetables 🥕 and passata 🍅. It’s hearty, nutritious, and gut-friendly – perfect for the colder months! ❄️💪

🌱 Healing Your Gut is More Than Physical 🌟

Did you know healing your gut isn’t just a physical cleanse—it’s an emotional one too? 🧠💖

Your gut is your ‘second brain’ 🧠, deeply connected to your emotions. Stress, grief, and unresolved feelings can get stored in the gut, creating tension and even physical symptoms like bloating, constipation, and discomfort. 😣💭

When we heal the gut - through diet, herbs 🌿, and practices like colonic hydrotherapy 💧- we’re not just releasing toxins; we’re letting go of emotional baggage too. 🕊️✨ Many of my clients describe feeling lighter, calmer, and more at peace after their first colonic, as though they’ve shed something they didn’t even realise they were holding onto. 🌈🌸

Healing your gut isn’t just about ending the physical discomfort - it’s about creating space for emotional clarity and calm too. 🧘‍♀️✨

If this resonates with you, join my FREE 3-Day Calm Your Gut Challenge. 🌟💚 You’ll learn simple, soothing ways to reduce gut discomfort, calm your system, and take the first step toward physical and emotional healing. 🌿💖

🎄🫖Now that Christmas is behind us, I imagine many of you, like me, are looking for ways to feel healthier and more balanced. My personal weakness is dark chocolate, so I’ve been experimenting with alternatives that are delicious, punchy and gut-friendly.

Enter: Christmas Chai. A cup of rooibos tea infused with warming spices like ginger, cinnamon, and cardamom - plus any other festive gems I can find in my spice drawer - is doing wonders for my cravings and my gut.

Did you know aromatic spices like these help relax the muscles of the gut and can ease bloating and gas?

In my 3-Day Calm Your Gut Free Challenge, I’ll show you even more simple, soothing ways to nourish your gut, reduce discomfort, and bring calm to your whole system. It’s time to feel good again. Join me!

🌿 Meet Leah: A Gut-Healing Transformation Story 🌿

When Leah came to me, she was struggling with:
🚽 Loose bowels after meals
🌸 Acne and a history of eczema
🤧 A constant runny nose
😣 Random bloating and gas that left her feeling uncomfortable
Her diet relied heavily on grains, and her symptoms pointed to deeper issues within her gut. Here’s how we tackled her challenges:
💡 The Root Causes
🔎 Loose bowels and colonic findings revealed a sluggish gallbladder and low bile production, making it hard to break down fats.
🔎 Random bloating and incomplete bowel movements indicated SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth).
🔎 Eczema, acne, and runny nose were signs of histamine intolerance – worsened before her period.
🌿 The Gut-Healing Plan
✔️ Stimulating bile production with a herbal bitters remedy containing artichoke leaf.
✔️ Adjusting her diet to reduce grains, nuts, and seeds and focus on gut-friendly carbs like vegetables.
✔️ Targeting SIBO with a herbal cleanse containing anti-fungal herbs and low-histamine adjustments.
✔️ Supporting her detox pathways with colonics, clay blends, glutathione, and vitamin C for optimal liver function.
✨ The Results
Leah’s transformation was incredible:
✅ Loose bowels? Gone.
✅ Acne and eczema? Cleared up.
✅ Bloating? A thing of the past.
✅ She finally has a calm gut, a flat tummy, and the freedom to live without worrying about being close to a toilet.
🌱 If you’re ready to take the first step toward a calmer gut and say goodbye to bloating, IBS, or other gut issues, join my January FREE 3-Day Calmer Gut Challenge!

What is Nutritional therapy?

Nutritional therapy involves gathering information from the client through questionnaires, asking questions face-to-face, laboratory testing and observation to create a detailed picture of symptoms, health of all body systems, medical history, diet, genetic tendencies, exposure to toxins, emotional health and lifestyle factors such as quantity and quality of sleep, exercise, quality of relationships and stress levels.

The therapist analyses this information to discern the underlying mechanisms that might be malfunctioning and what the triggers and drivers might be. She then draws up a dietary and lifestyle plan to address this, with the aim of enabling the body to regain equilibrium.

The plan may involve inclusion of certain foods/herbs/supplements and exclusion of certain foods. It may also include recommendations for changes to lifestyle habits that are negatively affecting health. Specific therapies such as taking saunas, massage, and intermittent fasting may be recommended. As changes to diet and lifestyle generally take time to implement, the plan may be carried out in stages.
