Your Practice as a Work of Art!

Each day, life offers us a blank canvas.
Not the kind that waits passively—but one that invites us to co-create.
With people, experiences, and the spaces we move through.
These are the brushes and pigments of our becoming.
And just like an artist returning to the easel,
we return to the mat.

The mat is your canvas.
Your breath, the brushstroke.
Your postures, the palette.
Your intentions, the guiding hand.
The space around you—the quiet gallery where your inner artist awakens.

Choose your colours and brushes wisely.
You’ll know when they’re right—
not by how they look,
but by how they make you feel.
Ease in the breath.
Clarity in the mind.
A quiet joy in the body.
That’s your truth speaking.

And for me—
teaching yoga is its own form of artistry.
Offering gentle, intuitive adjustments
feels like sculpting with breath and presence.
Each student follows the whispers of their body,
each practice becomes a living masterpiece.

To witness yogis in motion
is to step into a sacred art gallery 💙.

And I feel blessed to walk through those doors every day.

What are you creating today?

Love ♥️,
Tessa

Returning Home

After a week of retreat, I return with a full heart—and a quiet reminder:
You can always return home.
To your breath.
To your body.
To your centre.

This week in class, we’ll explore the theme:
✨ Let It Arise, Let It Unfold
A practice of softening into what’s here.
Not fixing. Not forcing. Just feeling.

And as we close, we’ll rest in this knowing:
“You are not a problem to be solved,
but a presence to be felt.
You are the river and the witness.
The current and the calm.
The one who flows,
and the one who watches it all unfold.”

Come as you are.
Let your breath guide you home.
I’ll meet you there.

The Science Behind Shoulder & Chest Tension

Your shoulders and chest aren’t just places where tension accumulates—they shape how you breathe, move, and feel. When stress and tightness settle in, it can lead to:
- Restricted breathing: Tight chest muscles limit lung expansion, reducing oxygen intake and increasing stress.

- Postural imbalances: Shoulder tension can pull the body into forward rounding, affecting spinal alignment and overall comfort.

- Nervous system strain: Chronic tightness keeps the body in a heightened stress response, making relaxation more difficult.

- Reduced circulation: Fascia stiffens, slowing muscle recovery and increasing stiffness.

The Solution? Yin Yoga for Shoulder & Chest Relief
Through gentle, long-held postures, we hydrate fascia, encourage fluid movement, and activate the parasympathetic nervous system—guiding the body from tension to ease.
This practice restores:
- Breath capacity: Open the chest, increase oxygen intake, and support nervous system balance.

- Postural freedom: Release stuck patterns in the shoulders to rediscover alignment and ease.

- Deep relaxation: Shift the body out of chronic stress and into renewal.

I am offering a Yin Yoga Masterclass specifically designed to support shoulder and chest relief in the beautiful and welcoming space of The Yoga Barn at Longwood Farm. Join me for this transformative practice and rediscover ease within your body

Peace is something you create and surround yourself with—in body, mind, and environment. It serves as an anchor, a place to return to, find strength, recharge, and seek protection.

The more I walk this path, the more I realize that peace isn’t something I chase—it’s something I return to. Again and again.

True peace isn’t just the absence of chaos—it’s a deep, embodied presence, a knowing that we are safe enough to fully land in the moment.

Safety in the body– Breathe. Soften. Notice. Your nervous system is listening. Slow down, ground into the earth, and invite your inner world to settle.

Safety in your environment– Choose spaces that nourish you. Your surroundings shape your ability to rest and recharge. Where do you feel most at ease?

Safety in your practice– Yoga is not about force; it’s about allowing. The poses, the breath, the pause—they hold you. Let them be a sanctuary where you can simply be!

Yoga has been my guide in this journey. Through breath, movement, and stillness, I’ve found that peace is always available when I pause and listen. When I allow myself to be fully present—when I trust my body, honor my nervous system, and create an environment that nurtures me—peace arrives naturally.

What does peace feel like in your body right now? Let’s inspire each other to return to our anchor, again and again.

The Rhythm of Time

In Yin yoga, time is not just a measurement—it is the pulse that guides us deeper into presence. When we surrender into stillness for longer than the usual 3-5 minutes, something profound begins to happen. Fascia softens, ligaments adapt, and bones quietly rebuild. Fibroblasts, the architects of our connective tissue, respond by attracting hydration molecules, creating flexibility and resilience. Osteoblasts, our bone-building cells, activate under sustained compression, strengthening the structure that holds us upright.

It’s not intensity that leads us deeper—it’s duration. When we pause, breathe, and allow time to work its quiet magic, we move beyond surface sensations into the deeper stories stored in our tissues.

This week, we explore time in all our classes, embracing its wisdom, its rhythm, its quiet magic.

And the highlight of the week: Sunday, 8th June—Yin Yoga Masterclass at —a practice dedicated to surrendering into the beauty of time.

“Time is the most mysterious force of all—it heals, transforms, and reveals what was once hidden.”

Join me as we slow down, soften, and discover what unfolds when time becomes the teacher.

Love ❤️
