💊 Bank Holiday Pharmacy Opening Times

If you need advice or medication over the Early May Bank Holiday (Monday 4 May), some local pharmacies across Buckinghamshire will be open with reduced hours.

We’re sharing this as a helpful guide for what’s available today – please check directly with the pharmacy before travelling, as times can change.

Your local pharmacist can help with many minor illnesses and provide advice without needing a GP appointment.

📱 Getting your cervical screening results? Here’s what to expect

From 24 March, most cervical screening results will be sent through the NHS App first.

🔔 If you have the NHS App, you’ll receive a notification when your result is ready
📩 If it’s not opened, a letter will be sent as a backup
• Within 24 hours (if further tests are needed)
• Within 72 hours (for all other results)

📬 Don’t have the NHS App? You’ll continue to receive your results by post

This change helps you get important information more quickly and securely.

Growing up & health privacy 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

Did you know access to a young person’s GP record changes as they get older?

🔹 Under 11 – parents/guardians usually manage access
🔹 Age 11 – proxy access is usually stopped to support confidentiality
🔹 Age 16+ – young people can choose who (if anyone) can access their records

Young people can:
✔️ Keep proxy access
✔️ Limit it (e.g. prescriptions only)
✔️ Remove it completely

We aim to support independence while keeping patients safe.

If you have questions about access or consent, speak to our team—we’re happy to guide you.

Who can access your GP record? 🤔

At The Hall Practice, we know that managing health for yourself or a loved one can sometimes mean sharing access.

Proxy access allows a trusted person (like a parent, partner, or carer) to:
✔️ Book appointments
✔️ Order prescriptions
✔️ View parts of your medical record

This is always based on your consent and can be changed or stopped at any time.

If you're unsure what access is right for you or your family, we're here to help—just get in touch with the practice.

What is a Patient Participation Group (PPG)?

A Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a group of volunteer patients who work together with the practice to improve services, share feedback, and help shape the future of patient care. It creates a space for open discussion, new ideas, and collaborative problem-solving between patients and staff.

Why Join Our PPG?

🌟 Have Your Say
Your experiences matter. Joining the PPG gives you the chance to share your views on what works well and what could be improved.

🤝 Work in Partnership
PPG members work alongside practice staff to help shape services, ensuring they meet the needs of our community.

💡 Make a Real Difference
From improving communication to supporting new initiatives, your input can directly influence positive change.

📢 Represent Your Community
Help us understand what different patient groups need — including families, carers, older adults, young people, and those with long-term conditions.

🗣️ Build Connections
Meet other patients, learn more about how the practice works, and get involved in meaningful discussions.
