It is with deep sadness that we share the news that our beloved founder Margaret Miles-Bramwell OBE passed away earlier today, surrounded by her family.

As well as being our guiding star and the beating heart and soul of Slimming World, Margaret will be remembered for being a much loved mum, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Since founding our precious organisation 55 years ago, she has loved, nurtured and protected it – along with each and every member, staff member and Consultant who’s been a part of the Slimming World family. Margaret steered her ship in the way she lived her life – with a generous spirit, passionate conviction, a wicked (and rebellious!) sense of humour and a fierce belief in doing the right thing.

Her determination to help people shed the burden of excess weight without shame or guilt has seen Slimming World grow from a single group in 1969 to the global authority in weight management that it is today. She undoubtedly touched hearts and changed lives for millions of people – and for all of us who knew and loved her. She’ll continue to do so for many more years to come.

Our thoughts are with Margaret’s family. We take comfort, as we’re sure they do, in the hope that Margaret is now reunited with her beloved Tony – sailing off into the sunset together. https://bit.ly/42F5Eia

HAVE YOU STEPPED AWAY FROM GROUP❓

As a Slimming World member before I became a Consultant then I totally understand how easy it is to give up. I’d love to be able to eat and drink what I want and not have to worry about my weight but the reality is that when I stop trying then there has only ever been one outcome 🙁

I get bigger❗️Those pesky pounds find me and much quicker than when I’m trying to lose them 👀

Sometimes I’ve actually known within days that I shouldn’t have walked away but it can take me months to return - why????

▶️ I’m still enjoying eating whatever I want and havent reached that stage of feeling dreadful yet.
▶️ I can still wear my leggings so pretending that I’m not about to go up a dress size and my jeans don’t fit anymore but they must have shrunk in the wash.
▶️ People might notice I’ve gained weight since I left group.
▶️ If I try again I might fail again?
▶️ I’m trying to go it alone or trying something else and yes if I’m being honest I’m not losing weight but perhaps if I give it another month, 6 months, year….. it might happen.

Consultants understand as we’ve said or thought these things but I’d ask you to take some time to look back through your photos. Find one from when you were smaller and look at it honestly 🥰 Does your smile show that you were feeling pretty good about yourself? Could you get back in those same clothes now? Did you have more energy, less aches and pains, more confidence and more choice of what to wear?

As for those other ‘stoppers’ then when you return to group you’ll be welcomed back with open arms as it’s you we’ve missed not your dress size 😉

If you try again then it might be YOUR time to get to your dream weight but if you don’t try again then what are the chances of you becoming who you’d truly love to be⁉️❤️

Myself and your friends in group would love to see you step back in to group as you have been missed xx

10 years to the day 19th May 2014, I started on an amazing journey in a role to help a community of members on their own weight loss journey’s and ran my first group as a Slimming World Consultant. I received these beautiful flowers on Friday from Slimming World to celebrate! What an incredible 10 years it has been, weight losses, weddings, babies, Awards, achievements, laughs, tears, ups, downs, celebrations and dare I say it…Covid!! I absolutely adore all of my members past and present and have been so lucky to be part of that community. And now more exciting things to come Slimming World
