Our Roaming Car service operates overnight from 8pm to 8am, providing a range of palliative and end of life care in the comfort of patients’ homes.💙
Linda’s husband, Tom had pulmonary fibrosis and died at home in Chinley in May 2025 with support from the service.
Linda said: ‘My daughter, Kim, and I wanted to keep him at home; didn't want him going into hospital and passing away on his own. The nurses were amazing making his last few days so much more comfortable. During the night as his pain increased, it made it much easier knowing a phone call meant that someone was there as soon as they possibly could - usually within half an hour - although more often than not, much quicker.
‘The nursing staff were wonderful and so was the treatment Tom received from them at a very difficult time, and the reassurance they gave my daughter and me when we needed them during the night. This car service is an excellent idea as just knowing you can ring at any time all through the night and the speed of response from the team was just fantastic.
‘I found myself really concerned because he was in so much pain, but they were there in no time, making him comfortable. I can honestly say to anyone considering care at home for terminally ill, this team certainly won't let you down, they are amazing and really are a credit to their profession.’
