There is a growing demand for natural organic skincare products which is why Shea Me exists. We have developed a range of certified, awarding winning, environmentally friendly and ethically sourced products. (for example our Shea butter is produced by a woman’s cooperative in Northern Ghana, enabling them to educate their children, improve their quality of life and make good life choices). Our products can be used from head to toe, as a one stop treatment for the entire body and, not only are they beautiful on the skin. They also reduce the impact of eczema and psoriasis with healing properties that are both antifungal and antibacterial. Research has found cinnamic acid and other natural properties in shea butter was anti-inflammatory in particular, lupeol cinnamate was found to reduce skin inflammation and even potentially help avoid skin mutations. Castor Oil- Is believed to be able to penetrate the body's tissues bringing many health benefits when used as a massage oil or a compress. It is a unique emollient product which contains natural waxes and rich fatty acids. This provide a secondary benefit of moisturisation to the skin that can enhance protection through improved barrier function. Lime Seed Oil is known to support tissue regeneration and conditions the skin. Tea Tree Oil- Tea tree is a well-known oil for cleaning and protecting the skin. It has a highly effective antiseptic and antifungal effect. In aromatherapy tea tree is described as having a purifying effect on the senses helping to maintain healthy breathing and a strong immune system.

Why are we extra special?

Our butter is from ‘Women’s Gold’ co-operative based in Wa Northern Ghana. This was started by Georgina Koomson; the group has over 600 women support a local community of over 2400 individuals and through the production of Organic Shea Butter are helping to build a better future. These women collect the Nuts, dry, shell and ground them. They are then roasted to bring out the oils and hand kneaded until it becomes a smooth creamy butter. It has a punchy smell and distinctive colour

They rely on the butter as their main income and because of my purchase, your purchase they can send their children to school and have better quality of life. We will be giving back to their community through various projects including the digging of a well to help ensure access to a safe clean water supply.
