🦷 Happy World Oral Health Day! 😄
This years theme is a Happy Mouth for a Happy Life. Good oral health helps us eat, speak, breathe, and smile with confidence. It also supports our overall wellbeing, because problems in the mouth don’t just stay in the mouth.
Poor oral health can lead to pain, lower confidence, and difficulties in daily life. It’s also linked to wider health conditions like diabetes, heart and lung diseases, pregnancy complications, Alzheimer’s disease, and rheumatoid arthritis. Looking after your mouth is a simple step with big benefits!
Here are some easy ways to keep your mouth healthy:
✨ Brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste for two minutes and remember to spit, don’t rinse.
🥗 Choose a balanced diet and cut down on sugary snacks and drinks.
🚭 Avoid to***co, it increases the risk of oral cancer and stains teeth.
🍷 Limit alcohol, which can be high in sugar and raise the risk of oral cancer.
🦷 Visit your dentist regularly, early checks prevent bigger problems later.
Helpful tips for older people:
🚰 If your mouth feels dry, sip water often or try sugar-free gum.
🦷Dentures? Clean them daily and leave them out at night.
✋Stiff hands? Try an electric toothbrush or soft floss picks.
