In the garden, our mini orchard is doing well with some lovely Pears and Victoria Plums.

She sells sea shells... For our Creative Mojo project this month we have some fabulous shell shapes to paint with lovely pearly colours. They look really good and will make wonderful trinket bowls for the rooms. Well done everyone!

Our monthly Church Service led by Charlie and Sandy Radburn from Emmanuel Church, our residents love to have a chat with them over a cuppa.

Tuesday we said hello to some creepy crawlies! Buttercup the corn snake, Brian the giant snail and Maurice the millipede among others. Chris from ZooLab was brilliant and very knowledgeable, telling us about the animals and answering lots of questions from the residents.

Monday afternoon we welcomed members of Chatteris In Bloom and the judges from Anglia in Bloom as they made their tour of our town.

Our residents enjoyed chatting to them and we hope they enjoyed seeing our garden, our artwork and Jeff’s fabulous teapots.

Now we wait until September for the results.

Family Volunteering Club Fenland Citizen Cambs Times

Each year The Gables offers support to Chatteris in Bloom by opening our garden to the judges of Anglia in Bloom. The judges will be here on the afternoon of Mon 21 Jul.

The Chatteris in Bloom group is celebrating their 20th year, their China Anniversary. June and Mo took a walk out to the Bandstand this afternoon to admire the amazing giant cup displays along with the planters at Chatteris Museum.

They also loved seeing the fabulous hanging baskets The Old Bakery

An afternoon of fun and frivolity with our favourite banjo player Sean - The Banjo Man! Brilliant singing by our amazing residents - a good time had by all! And of course Karen - the Tea Angel (but I didn't get a photo of her!)

Another beautiful sunny day we've been thinking about days by the seaside. A beach themed Wordsearch in the morning followed by an afternoon in the garden for fresh air and ice lollies!
