💥 Why Runners Should Include Resistance Training 💥

As a sports massage therapist, I often see runners with recurring injuries — tight hips, sore knees, or overworked calves. One common factor? Not enough strength training.

Incorporating resistance work (like bodyweight, bands, or weights) helps runners:

✅ Build stronger, more balanced muscles
✅ Improve stability and posture
✅ Run more efficiently
✅ Prevent common overuse injuries

Strength training supports the same muscles and joints you rely on during your runs — and that means less strain, better performance, and faster recovery.

Pairing regular resistance training with sports massage is a game-changer for any runner. Your body will thank you — on race day and during recovery! 🏃‍♀️🧘‍♂️

✨ Is Your Posture Holding You Back? ✨

We spend hours hunched over desks, phones, and steering wheels — and our bodies feel it. Poor posture doesn’t just look bad, it can cause muscle tension, headaches, back pain, and even limit your performance in the gym or on the field.

The good news? You don’t have to live with it. A sports massage can help release tight muscles, realign your body, and get you standing taller and moving better.

🏃‍♂️ Why Do Runners Always Have Tight Calves? 🤔

If you’re a runner, chances are you’ve felt those rock-hard calves at some point — maybe every time you get up from the sofa! 🦵💥

But why do they get so tight?

✅ Overuse & Repetition
Running uses your calf muscles (mainly the gastrocnemius and soleus) a lot. Every step pushes you forward with these little powerhouses. The more miles you log — especially on hills or hard surfaces — the harder they work.

✅ Weak or Tired Supporting Muscles
If your glutes, hamstrings, or core aren’t pulling their weight, your calves pick up the slack. Hello, tightness!

✅ Lack of Stretching & Mobility
We’re all guilty of skipping the calf stretch after a run. But short, tight calves can lead to other problems — think Achilles pain or shin splints.

✅ Improper Footwear or Running Form
Old shoes or poor technique can increase strain on your lower legs.

How to Help Your Calves Out:
✨ Stretch after every run.
✨ Warm up properly (think dynamic moves, not just static stretching).
✨ Book a sports massage to release tension and improve circulation — your calves will thank you!

Got tight calves? Drop me a message — I’d love to help you run looser, longer, and stronger! 💪🏃‍♀️

✨ Unlock Better Recovery with Dry Cupping! ✨

Did you know that dry cupping isn’t just an ancient therapy — it’s a game-changer for modern athletes and active people too? 🏋️‍♂️💆‍♀️

Here’s why you’ll love adding dry cupping to your sports massage session:
🔥 Boosts circulation: Helps flush out toxins and brings fresh, oxygen-rich blood to tight, sore muscles.
⚡ Speeds up recovery: Perfect for reducing post-workout soreness and improving range of motion.
💪 Targets stubborn tension: The gentle suction lifts tissues, loosens knots, and releases deep fascial restrictions you can’t always reach with massage alone.
🌿 Totally natural: No chemicals, no downtime — just a natural way to help your body heal itself.

Whether you’re training hard, recovering from an injury, or just need to unwind that desk-job tension, dry cupping can be the missing piece your body will thank you for!

Ready to feel the difference? Book your next session and experience it for yourself — your muscles will love you for it! 💪

Good advice 😋💪🏃‍♀️🏃

Bananas are one of the best natural snacks for runners, providing quick energy, essential nutrients, and easy digestion.

Packed with fast-digesting carbohydrates, they offer a steady release of energy without feeling too heavy before a run. Their high potassium content helps maintain electrolyte balance, reducing the risk of muscle cramps, especially in hot weather.

Unlike some pre-run foods that can cause bloating or discomfort, bananas are gentle on the stomach, making them a reliable option before a long run or race. After running, pairing a banana with protein supports muscle recovery by replenishing glycogen stores.

With no packaging or prep needed, they’re a simple, effective fuel source for any runner.
