The Alexandra Hospital Urgent
Care Centre will be open from 8am until 8pm Sunday 1st February but will only have a Doctor available between the hours of 10am & 6pm. The same will be for Monday 2nd February.

We are pleased to welcome two paediatric eye doctors from Lithuania to The Alexandra Hospital for observational visits. Each doctor will be with us for two weeks.

Dr Aistė Augytė is Head of the Paediatric Ophthalmology Department at Vilnius University, while Dr Liveta Sereikaitė Janonė is a Paediatric Ophthalmologist at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Hospital in Kaunas. During their visits, Dr Augytė and Dr Sereikaitė-Janonė will be observing and shadowing Miss Anna Maino, working closely with her and the wider ophthalmology team.

Miss Maino is President-Elect of the European Board of Ophthalmology and is widely recognised for her surgical expertise and leadership in ophthalmic education. These visits are focused on professional exchange and shared learning. By hosting visiting specialists, Miss Maino supports the development of best practice and contributes to the advancement of the global paediatric ophthalmology community.

While Dr Augytė and Dr Sereikaitė Janonė will not be independently consulting or treating patients, their presence enriches multidisciplinary discussion, ultimately benefiting patient care. All care will continue to be led by Miss Maino and her clinical team, ensuring continuity of care, safety and quality at all times.
