A Heartwarming Visit from Ladybarn House School

We had such a lovely afternoon here at the home when the children from Ladybarn House School came to visit . Our residents really enjoyed chatting with the children and hearing all about their favourite school memories — there were lots of smiles on the residents faces.

The children made these memories into a book for us which will be buried along with other memories at Abney in a time capsule in Abney Court Gardens to celebrate 10 wonderful years of Abney! 🎉

It was such a special visit that brought so much joy to everyone , we love Intergenerational visits it always brightens our day — thank you to all the children and teachers for making our day so bright! 💖

✨ Making Wishes Come True ✨

At Abney Court we love helping our residents relive their most treasured memories. This week, we had the absolute pleasure of taking Arthur to the Avro Heritage Museum in Woodford.

Arthur proudly served in the RAF, and the last time he flew in a Lancaster Bomber was back in 1953. Thanks to the wonderful team at the museum – and a special thank you to Trevor for giving us such a fantastic tour – Arthur was able to sit inside a Lancaster once again.

The joy on his face said it all.

On Saturday the amazing staff at Abney Court will be lacing up their walking shoes to take part in an Alzheimer’s Charity Walk at Heaton Park💜.

We’re walking in support of everyone affected by dementia — our residents, their families, and the millions of people across the UK whose lives are touched by Alzheimer’s.

Every step we take is a step closer to raising awareness, showing support, and helping fund vital research and care. 🏃‍♀️👟

Abney Court Care Home Macillan Coffee Morning ☕️ 🍰

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and supported our coffee morning! Together we raised £130 for Macmillan Cancer Support. 💚

We’re so grateful for the generous donations of cakes that helped make the day so special , the Cake Box Cheadle Village for their amazing cake that they donated and everyone who bought the scrumptious cakes 🧁🎂

Together, we’ve put together a special hamper of food and essentials, which we’ve donated to Trinity Church, Cheadle food bank to support local families in need and our lifestyle and a resident delivered it to the food bank .

It’s important to us to give back to the community and this is just one small way we can help make a difference.

While the rain poured outside, we kept spirits bright indoors with plenty of laughter, tea, and biscuits 🫖🍪

Our lovely residents enjoyed good conversations and a relaxing pamper session in the salon 💅 – the perfect way to spend a cozy afternoon together.

Rainy days may be grey, but here they’re always full of warmth and smiles! 😊

Mamma Mia here we go again at Abney Court
The home was filled with joy, smiles and plenty of singing as we welcomed an incredible ABBA tribute singer! 💃🕺

From Dancing Queen to Waterloo,residents and staff couldn’t resist clapping, singing along, and even showing off a few dance moves. The energy in the room was truly infectious, and the smiles said it all.

Moments like these remind us of the power of music to bring people together and lift spirits. 🌟

A huge thank you to Gabby for such a fantastic afternoon – we can’t wait to have you back again!
