Our compassionate Home Care in Cheadle team provides person centred support to those in need of an extra helping hand at home. Care can start from as little as 30 minutes per week and ranges from respite, elderly and dementia care, up to live in care and complex care for more serious health conditions. We'll be there when you need us, whether that's to help you with the housework in the afternoon, support with getting dressed in the morning or for extra reassurance overnight. A festive day out to remember ✨🎄​

Joy recently enjoyed a magical trip to a local Christmas Fayre — a day filled with festive lights, browsing beautiful stalls, and making special memories.​

Thanks to the thoughtful planning and support from her care team, everything was arranged to ensure Joy could relax and enjoy the experience. ​

Vic, contacted Joy’s son, Rob, to see if this was something she’d enjoy and made sure all risk assessments were in place. She then carefully scheduled the visit so there was plenty of time for Joy to wander, explore and soak up the festive atmosphere.​

On the day, Joanne arrived for her morning visit, helped Joy get ready, and accompanied her to the event. Together they explored the Fayre, admired the decorations, and even picked out a lovely Christmas pudding ornament that Joy fell in love with. After a bit of shopping, they treated themselves to tea and a toasted teacake in the café — and even met Mr Blobby for a fun photo!​

Joy had such a wonderful time and has been telling other staff who visit her all about her day. She’s hoping to get out to more events like this, and we’re already keeping an eye out for what’s happening next in the community.​

Recently, one of our wonderful customers shared a beautiful reflection about a very special night out made possible with the support of her dedicated care team. We’re delighted to share Christine's story, celebrating the joy, confidence, and unforgettable memories she experienced.​

"A Night to Remember: Helping Hands Made My Dream Come True​

When I first heard about the Manchester MNDA Winter Ball, I never imagined I would be able to attend. Living with health challenges often means missing out on special occasions—but thanks to the incredible support from Helping Hands, that changed in the most wonderful way.​

From the very start of the day, the Helping Hands team went above and beyond. Cristina set the tone with her warm, reassuring presence, making sure everything began smoothly. Jess brought glamour and confidence into the mix, sharing the contents of her makeup bag and her expertise to help me feel my best. And then there was Beth the star of the evening who ensured I arrived safely, stayed comfortable, and enjoyed every single moment.​

The night itself? Absolutely magical. The atmosphere, the company, the sense of celebration it was everything I had hoped for and more. For me, this wasn’t just an event; it was a reminder that with the right support, life can still hold extraordinary experiences.​

To Helping Hands and everyone who played a part in making this happen: thank you from the bottom of my heart. You didn’t just help me attend a ball you gave me joy, confidence, and memories I will cherish forever.​
