Introducing ‘Prehab to Rehab’

Preparing the body for surgery will ultimately affect how well it recovers after the operation.

From nutrition, breath patterns, pelvic floor, core strength and lifestyle factors, the Prehab offered in this package will certainly get the body in the best place possible for pelvic/abdominal surgery .

The dreaded ‘you’ll be back to normal in so many weeks’ isn’t a lived reality. Gradual return to activity is the key to success but where and when to start?

The Rehab sessions in this package take you from those early days of recovery, to gradually gaining strength and pain free movement.

If some extra sessions are needed to get back to high level exercises then there is flexibility of adding Rehab + Sessions if needed.

This week Pilates meets Strength Training in the Studio Pass Membership.

The new sessions are 20 minutes, with fewer exercises and more repetitions.

We are still using the principles of Pilates; neutral alignment, breath patterns and using the core but with structured reps and sets.

We are starting purely with body weight only but will be moving to optional bands and weights.

Why not join the strength train with us??? 💪🏼

Oh and for those still wanting pure Pilates, have no fear there are still 200 classes ready when you are!

My first love… 😍 PILATES 😍

Using props like a small block (or a couple of books), we get to challenge our bodies in different ways.

For some movements it will increase the range of
movement and for others it’s makes us work harder as we make the body feel less stable.

Pilates (IMAO) is the foundation work for any type of sport. The benefits include stability, mobility, mind-muscle connection, understanding your own movement patterns, to name but a few!

The Studio Pass is where you can access the library of over 150 Physio-led Pilates classes (Pregnancy friendly too) with a new 45 minute class added each week for £18/month.

Cue a barrage of ads for 30 day body transformations, go keto, quit sugar, fasted training etc etc

How about keeping it simple? How about being consistent?

It’s not as glamorous, it’s not a quick fix but your future self will thank you.

It starts by eating nutrient dense whole foods every single day.

That maybe enough for now or it could go hand in hand with starting to build muscle. Muscle improves your health, your body composition and the ageing process.

Building new habits takes at least 6 weeks for them to feel ‘normal’.
