Mother’s Day can hold many meanings.
For some, it’s a day of celebration and gratitude. For others, it can bring feelings of grief, longing, or distance. Being a mum is so much more than the picture-perfect moments we often see, it’s complex, emotional, exhausting, beautiful, and sometimes overwhelming.
Today we honour all the different experiences of motherhood.
The mums who are doing their best every day.
Those who are missing their mum.
Those with complicated or estranged relationships with their mother figures.
Those who long to be mothers.
And those who mother, nurture, and care in ways that may go unseen.
Whatever this day means for you, your feelings are valid. Be gentle with yourself today. đź’›
