My Little Secret for Easier Digestion & Heartburn ☕💛

I’ve been drinking roasted dandelion root “coffee” every day, sometimes even twice a day, and I absolutely love it.

It smells amazing and has a unique taste—slightly sweet at first with a gentle, earthy aftertaste. Not bitter, just rich and grounding.

I usually drink mine plain because I really enjoy the flavor as it is. But you can add a bit of milk or even a touch of honey or maple syrup if you'd like it sweeter.

Initially, my husband didn’t enjoy it at all. He only tried it because he was tired of that uncomfortable burning feeling after spicy foods or coffee. I told him it might help ease that heartburn, especially after meals or at night. He trusted me and gave it a shot.

Over time, he admitted it helped—a lot. He no longer needs to reach for antacids, and although it’s still not his favorite drink, he actually enjoys having it now.

How I Make It:
- 1 teaspoon roasted dandelion root (store-bought or homemade)
- About half a cup of water per serving
- Optional: a splash of milk or milk alternative
- Optional: a bit of honey or maple syrup
Bring the water to a gentle boil, add the roasted dandelion root, and let it simmer or steep for about 10 minutes. Strain it, pour into your mug, and enjoy.

Why I Love It:
Dandelion root naturally contains inulin, a prebiotic fiber that supports healthy gut bacteria and digestion. It’s traditionally been used to support bile flow, which helps with fat digestion and overall digestive comfort.

Love your food… hate your heartburn?

You finally sit down to eat.
And minutes later, it’s back the burning, the tightness, that discomfort that takes all the joy out of the meal.

Yes, heartburn can be triggered by foods like coffee, fat, or sugar, or by eating too fast.
But often, it’s not just the food.

👉 As we get older, our natural digestive enzymes decrease.
👉 When we’re stressed, we burn through minerals, and minerals are essential for digestion.
👉 And when we’re rushing, eating emotionally, or distracted… we’re not giving the body a chance to do what it’s built to do.

There are things we can do that creare simple, natural shifts that support digestion at the root:

😝 The Yucky Feeling

One of my sessions today was all about self-worth.
My client came in feeling drained and “yucky” after another week of bitching and complaining at work.
She wasn’t even the one gossiping, she was just sitting in that energy all week, which made her body tighten and her breath shallow.

What we uncovered was this: it wasn’t really about them.

📍The Day I Almost Quit
Not long ago, I couldn’t bring myself to respond to client messages.

I’d read them and feel… nothing.
No spark. No interest. No energy to care.

I thought maybe I’d lost my passion.
Maybe I wasn’t meant to do this work anymore.
And that terrified me.

But then I found out my testosterone was low.
My hormones were out of balance — and so was I.

As I started rebalancing my body, something shifted.
When I returned to my sessions and let kinesiology and B.E.S.T. flow together — moment to moment — the magic came back.
Not as a performance. But as a dialogue between me, the client, and their body.

And that’s when I remembered:
There’s always a reason. For the exhaustion. The disconnection. The numbness.

There’s also always a way back.

When Old Wounds Show Up in New Ways
Sometimes, it’s not the current situation that’s causing the pain —
It’s something much older.
Much deeper.
Still unresolved.

You might feel bloated. Or constipated.
You might have heartburn that won’t go away, no matter what you eat.
You might feel stuck, heavy, emotional, or sensitive in ways that feel “out of proportion” to what’s happening now.

Marta was 55 when she told me: “I don’t know why I still feel broken. I got out. I built a life. But something in me never fully landed.”
Her father was an alcoholic.
She remembers being seven, asking her mother why there was never enough food.

The silence.

The shame in the village when people called them “that family.”

As a teenager, Marta fought her own battle with alcohol.
