A huge thank you to everyone who has kindly donated to our raffle so far!

We’ve been lucky to receive some fantastic prizes from local people and businesses, including:
🌟 A meal voucher for the The Bath Arms
🌟 A £20 voucher for Rachel’s Grill
🌟 A beautiful plant from Bouquet Florist, Somerset

We’ve also put together some lovely hampers, thanks to generous donations - and a couple made up by us too!

We’re getting so excited for Saturday now. 🎉 Don’t forget, there’s still time to buy your raffle tickets: £1 for a single ticket or £5 for a strip.

We hope to see lots of you there for what’s set to be a really lovely day! 💕

✨ Another fantastic day with Maisy during her work experience at Court House
✨
Maisy started the day by lending a hand in the kitchen with Kristy, learning just how much the Care Home Kitchen really is the heartbeat of our home. In the afternoon, she brought her creativity to the table by helping residents decorate Harry Potter-themed cupcakes. The highlight? Magical golden snitches made from Ferrero Rocher – they were an absolute hit!

Of course, the best part was sharing and enjoying these delicious treats together. A big thank you to Maisy for bringing so much energy and thought into planning an activity that everyone could join in and enjoy. You’ve made this day truly special for our residents!

How lucky were we to have Maisy join us for her work experience week from Wells Blue School!

On her very first day, Maisy helped plan some of the week’s activities and spent quality time getting to know our lovely residents. She brought so much energy and fun to the drawing room, where they enjoyed playing board games together.

Maisy introduced some of our residents to Connect Four and Jenga — games many of them had never played before — and they absolutely loved it! There was also a lively game of Scrabble, with plenty of laughs and some impressive words.

Even Kristy, our cook, got involved and came up with some great words! But the highlight of the day was Margaret’s winning word — “QUIZ” — short but powerful, and enough to launch her into the lead and win the game!

We can’t wait to see what Maisy has planned for the rest of the week. Thank you, Maisy, for bringing such joy to our home!

🇺🇸🎆 American Independence Day at Court House! 🎆🇺🇸

Today at Court House, we came together to celebrate American Independence Day in true red, white, and blue style! 🎉

We filled the dining room with festive decorations and enjoyed some classic American tunes that set the perfect mood. 🇺🇸🎶 We also learned some fascinating facts about the history of the 4th of July — a great way to reflect on the meaning behind the celebration.

Of course, no Independence Day is complete without great food, and Kristy absolutely nailed it with an all-American menu featuring juicy beef burgers and crispy fried chicken — a big hit all around! 🍔🍗👏

Thank you to everyone who helped make today so special — a wonderful way to celebrate freedom, history, and community. ❤️💙

🍓 Picnic on the Lawn at Court House 🧺

Today at Court House, we hosted our very own “Picnic on the Lawn” – although technically, we weren’t on the lawn, we brought the spirit of a classic picnic to the patio and it was just as delightful!

We shared stories from our childhoods — from picnics in the park to sandy sandwiches on the beach (yes, the crunch was real!). It was a lovely trip down memory lane, chatting about where we used to go, what we packed, and how it felt to spend those sunny days with family.

A big thank you to Siriol for the top tip that led Chris to some wonderful old picnic baskets from a vintage shop in Wells – they made fantastic props and sparked lots of conversation.

Angie served up a perfect picnic spread: sandwiches, Scotch eggs, sausage rolls, crisps – all dished out from Tupperware onto paper plates, just as it should be. And of course, we toasted with a little prosecco... from paper cups, of course! 🥂

Such a simple but joyful event, full of laughter and memories. Here's to the timeless magic of a good picnic! 🌞🧺🍽️
