Are you a desk worker with chronic neck, back or shoulder pain? Perhaps even headaches and jaw pain?
It could be your posture 🤔
How do we examine posture? 👀
🔍 1. Visual Assessment
Chiropractors begin by visually assessing your posture from the front, side, and back. We’re looking for:
• Head alignment (e.g., forward head posture)
• Shoulder height and symmetry
• Spine curvature (e.g., kyphosis, lordosis, scoliosis)
• Hip alignment
• Knee and foot positioning
🖐️ 2. Palpation
We feel along the spine and muscles to:
• Identify tightness, tenderness, or imbalances
• Check joint mobility
• Find misalignments (subluxations)
🧪 3. Functional Tests
Tests may include:
• Range of motion testing
• Leg length comparison
• Balance and stability tests
• Gait analysis (watching you walk)
🧠 4. Neurological & Orthopaedic Exams
If necessary, we may perform additional neurological or orthopedic tests to:
• Assess nerve function
• Rule out underlying conditions contributing to postural issues
✅ Outcome
From this evaluation, we create a treatment plan which may include:
• Chiropractic adjustments
• Postural correction exercises
• Ergonomic advice
• Lifestyle modifications
