I woke up on Sunday feeling quite heavy and could have dropped into depression (I know the signs) Instead I got out into the garden, did some weeding, tidying up and made a fire.
I felt lighter and lighter as I sat with my head close to the heat coming from it, gently breathing consciously through my nose. Suddenly an eruption of tears came up and out and I sobbed for a few minutes.
I felt lighter and energised for the rest of the day as the fire helped to lift me out of the depression, burning away the negative thoughts I was with.
My mind cleared and I noticed space between my thoughts, now looking for something to enjoy.
It is often the simple things that bring the most comfort to us if we know where to look.
Fire burns things away, even thoughts, if we allow it. ππ
