A great reset space in Sorrento to spend time in nature and appreciate the natural world.

I read a brilliant book about the importance of play and improvisation and how they both contribute to how we grow.

I will be announcing a couple of personal development days in the coming weeks, both of which will be playful and will call on participants to improvise and bring their imaginative aspects to the forefront.

Exciting times ahead. Stepping into spring with a spring in my step 😃

This month marks the thousandth guest joining my sessions at Delamere rehab centre in Northwich for the deeply transformative practice of Breathwork.

Breathwork helps you connect into your body, takes you out of your head and enables a meaningful experience to emerge from within.

Lots of tears, lots of joy, a coming home to what has been forgotten through addiction. Being a small part of someone’s journey to recovery is heart warming.

I know that many guests have wanted to continue to engage with Breathwork in their day to day lives and understand the part that conscious breathing can play for them.

Breathwork is not a gimmick, not a quick fix to anything either, it is a companion to travel with into the body and the soul where you find the you that yearns to come out and be known.

I continue my own journey with my breathe and my daily practice is both nourishing and enlightening, offering insights and clarity. Refinement is an ongoing process.

Our brains are such amazing organs. So complex. EMDR is a way of working directly with the brain to help it process traumatic events that may have left you looping in stressful thoughts and flashbacks.

I have been working with EMDR as a process for 8 years now and am still amazed by the breakthroughs clients can have with it.

Everyone is different and has their own journey through the EMDR process. Trust the process and it can really work well.

It’s so nice sitting out side amongst the new growth. It’s amazing how well we can grow when we have just the right conditions, the right people, the right environment.

A beautiful day at the rehab centre I work at offering Breathwork sessions.

Breathwork is a valuable practice offering us a way to connect with the body and nurture a compassionate and loving relationship with it.

Addictions are a symptom of disconnection from ourselves, we can reconnect when we breath consciously and explore our internal landscape.

I’m shocked when I hear about therapists fixed in 2 extremes ways of working!

Passivity, offering nothing to the client, just listening with no support or helpful interventions (imagine how this would feel as the client?).

And filling the space talking about themself rather than focussing on the client! Again imagine how this might feel for a client? Unheard, unsupported maybe?

I’ve spoken to so many supervisees and clients who have experienced both ends of this spectrum and ended up seeking alternative therapists to work with.

Are you a therapist who struggles to be in the therapy room as an interactive participant in the process?

Are you a therapist who tries to offer solutions and answers and does not leave enough space for the client to expand into?

Being too much or not enough loses clients. Finding fluidity in connecting with clients offers meaningful sessions where the therapeutic relationship thrives.

The issues of too much and not enough are a lack of containment and too much containment respectively. Both have roots in attachment and both can be improved in the here and now.

It is only when you can respond to the client that meaningful interaction is possible.

You will get the opportunity to learn more about yourself and your patterns on my training day on April 18th. Plenty of interactive exercises to help you improve your flow in the therapy space and discover a meaningful rhythm.

Please comment “interested” below and I can send you further details.

The environment we sit on changes our mental state. Being outside in a wide open space with the breeze against our face is different to looking at the four walls of a room with no natural light or nature.

We can be with our sense of depression or anxiety in the house or outside in nature. Being with anxiety or depression out in nature offers the opportunity for us to witness life around us and maybe some of that will pe*****te us and we can join with the aliveness around us.

Being absorbed and engulfed by nature may help us feel part of something ever changing and help us notice the subtle or big changes we can experience within ourselves.

Open spaces can help our mind open to new possibilities. 🙏

I woke up this morning with a strong desire to make a fire. The world feels so still today after the strong winds of the storm last night.

I was consciously breathing for a while before this thought came to me about fire and then I noticed how much heat I had generated through my body from my conscious and intentional breath.

My nervous system was in survival mode for a lot of my life and what bigger need to we have as humans than to need fire for survival.

I think I just needed to remind myself that fire can fuel my inner and out world. I can generate warmth from within and I am strangely comforted by this.

To go inward and find peace and warmth is a relief from the craziness of the wars and destruction that
I have no control over. 🙏💜

While I was breathing consciously this morning I had an experience of something heavy lifting out of my body. The experience of separating out a programming that had been sat in my brain which contained ideas and beliefs that did not belong to me.

I noticed my brain clearly in my head, like I could see instead de my brain. During this experience my abdomen started to gently pulse and a rush of energy moved up through my spine and up through my brain. A deep peace washed over me and I enjoyed that for some time.

My daily conscious breathing practice is the gift that keeps on giving. My body remains grounded and soft and my breath unlocks energies that are ready to move.

This is a huge development after years of my brain being overwhelmed, overactive and addictions taking me away from my body.

We are all on our own journey and I’m grateful that my journey is taking me into deeper connection and care for my body.
