Owner and Paramedic Operations Manager Steve Chivers joined the NHS Ambulance service in 1985 and qualified as one of the first UK Paramedics in 1992. Steve went on to complete 34 years in the NHS Ambulance Service gaining a vast amount of experience as a front line Paramedic as well as an Operations Manager, Steve also worked in the Ambulance control room, Stansted Airport, and two Hospital A&E departments as an Ambulance Liaison Officer before deciding to leave the NHS in October 2019 and set up Unit Medics. Since October 2019 Unit Medics have provided specialist medical cover for a large number of Productions including construction and shoot medical cover. We have worked on productions for Sky TV, BBC, ITV, Netflix, and many other smaller companies. We are based in Essex just on the edge of east London and are able to supply suitably qualified experienced staff with appropriate equipment and vehicles for your production for a single day or complete from construction to final wrap. We have available Paramedics for those higher risk stunt shoots & 4X4 Response vehicle for those off road or difficult to access locations. All our staff are fully trained, Experienced at working in a film set environment, Uniformed, DBS Cleared and have completed “Future Learn” & “Screen Skills” Covid training.
