WHAT IS MATES FC?
MATES in the Community is an initiative we started back in 2021 to ensure we were using our community to help the wider community to create a Greener, Cleaner, Sustainable club.
One of our key successes has been taking food and goods donations in exchange for entry to our training sessions and League games, we have donated such a huge amount of food to feed the community via The Little Edi Foundation or Chelmsford Foodbank, Sanctus Homeless Charity and Cool to be Kind. In turn when some of our attendees may feel at their lowest, to see at the end of the month what they have been a part of, to see those families eating because of our attendees donations, or hearing that the coat you donated, went straight to a rough sleeper that night and they were warm because of you, its such a boost to our attendees, knowing what they have been a part of,
Attendee Responsibility
Our Attendees are why we do what we do. We have a responsibility to them, We are YOUR MATES, and We are YOUR MATES FC. We are all about conversations and two way dialogue, we will remain flexible and will evolve on continued feedback from our attendees to be what they need us to be. Equally, it is our responsibility to ensure equality, fairness and to ensure that all of our attendees do their bit for the wider community.
Social Responsibility
We are committed to supporting our wider community to ensure those that are less fortunate in the City and surrounding area are supported. We will do this mainly by our MATES in the Community good causes campaign to help Rough Sleepers via Cool to be Kind, Victims of Domestic Abuse via Changing Pathways, Children & Families in need via The Little Edi Foundation, everyone household that relies on Chelmsford Food Bank and abandoned dogs via Wallace Dog Rescue.
Environmental Responsibility
Protect, Preserve, Improve
By enforcing strict but reasonable processes and providing clear guidance to our attendees we can do our bit to reduce waste, produce no waste, leave every venues environment in a better condition than we found them in and by using our MATES in The Community good causes donation campaign we can increase recycling and reduce waste whilst helping those in the community
Company Responsibility
We believe in equality and fairness. We treat everyone how we would expect to be treated and we believe strongly about always doing the right thing. That ethic is at our heart and is what makes sure we move in the right direction.
Our Key drive is to do all we can, whatever we can to improve peoples Positive Mental Health and help people live a better quality of life, get the life they deserve, equality & quality to everyone. MATES is a not for profit Community Interest Company (like a charity but a different name) SETUP WITH THE SOLE PURPOSE OF HELPING THE COMMUNITY
