I need to practise and get back into teaching as everything stopped during lockdown.

So whilst scrolling through insta I came across and she has inspired me to try and start running again.

I loved running and had just got to my 5k mark and was about to start training to get to 10k until disaster struck.

I injured my knee which put a total halt to any running as it just kept collapsing on me. I rested it and when it was better I tried again but was unable to run for longer than ten minutes before it collapsed on me.

So I admitted defeat and stopped. Until today when I ended up jogging back to my car - long story for another day — however it was fine. So after reading projectmarathongirl’s post it’s made me think I should give it another go.

I wonder if it’s the Reformer Pilates classes I’ve been taking for the last few years that have strengthened my body.

Anyway timing couldn’t be better as I’m joining my team in a ten day challenge starting next Monday 7th June.

To get me ready for the challenge I was going to have a cheeky mini challenge for just me starting tomorrow, as it’s half term I thought I could start prepping myself for next week, getting back into eating healthily and doing more home cooking. Also increasing my water intake.

Along with this I wanted to run some Pilates classes for me and anyone else to join in. I haven’t done much teaching since lockdown in January so it would be really helpful for me to run some classes for anyone who’d like to join so that I could get back into the swing of things.

• Day 15 - Neck Pull

Exercise 15/34

Previous exercises like roll up and rolling back to prepare you for the Neck Pull. Unlike the roll up, where spinal flexion and ‘c’ curve is maintained throughout, the neck pull has a lift to lengthen through the spine before the roll down sequence.

Aim is full spinal articulation into flexion from the head, length through the spine from head to tail (avoid extending into spine) and then the roll down initiating from the tail bone one vertebrae at a time. Keep the pelvis vertical (stacked under the shoulders), scapula stabilised.

A great exercise, not only to mobilise the entire spine but also to open the front of the hip joint, challenge hip flexor strength and spinal stability. A work in progress for me…but getting there!

• When people ask me about pilates and its benefits I tell them about my personal experience.
My posture has improved a lot thanks to it.
If you have known me for a while, you know what I am talking about..You can see it with you own eyes.
As a shy teenager I started hiding, I used to dislike my feminine shapes.. the result of that “closure” was a really bad rounded shoulders posture.
My mum tried so many ways to correct it, even posture braces.. but no one really worked for me.
Then one day I tried a pilates class at a fitness event, just because there was no other option..and .. oh wow !!
THE REVELATION!
I could feel the difference in my body already after that very first class!
So I started taking more classes as a student and finally decided to study to become a certified Pilates Instructor.
Long story short, I am now certified in Pilates Matwork and Pilates Props and have been teaching classes regularly for more than 8years.
My master trainer knows me and she can testify the change happened.
I am the living proof the Pilates system works.

• 😕The toughest thing that I go through during lockdown is not being able to go into my studio every morning to help all my clients to achieve their health goals. Although, I am so glad I get to see you guys on my virtual platform🥰.⁣⁣

🤰🏼As a mum of 3, I feel for you, new mums, mums to be and all the mums that are currently in lockdown. Not only that, we have to homeschool our kids📚, daily home routines, prepare meals🍝, work from home 🏡, and the day just slip away.⁣⁣

When do you find time to read a book or squeeze in a cheeky workout🧘🏼‍♀️? I know it sounds so hard right now, but let me tell you this, if you can spare 30 minutes in the morning (before the kids) or in the evening (when the kids go to sleep💤 ), you can definitely keep your body healthy with my classes.⁣⁣

‼️My method is designed to elongate and stretch tighter muscles, isolate and strengthen weaker muscles and work you deep to the centre (core). ⁣⁣
