PROTEIN FOR EVERYONE ❀
We all need protein to build muscle and sometimes it can be a bit difficult to get enough of it. However, whether you’re limited by your dietary preferences or by the amount of time you have to prepare food, there are options. Not all of these options are pure protein sources as a lot of them include carbs and/or fat as well. Further, the quality of these foods is not equal as I would not suggest using bacon and burgers as your primary protein sources each day. This is just meant to show you that there is protein in more foods than you probably realize and these options can be included (some more often than others) in your diet to reach your protein goal.

Cowboy caviar pasta salad 🀠
Alright, i caved! i’m not one for ~trendy~ things but i will capitalize on any opportunity to make a new pasta salad. left out a few of the standard cowboy caviar ingredients (tomatoes, avocados) so it wouldn’t get too soggy but it’s so fun + flavorful nonetheless. beware this recipe feeds an army πŸ€ͺ you can cut back the measurements though!

RECIPE (dairy free, gluten free option**)
-1 lb cooked pasta (i used orecchiette) **sub GF if desired
-1 can black beans, drained & rinsed
-1 can black eyed peas, drained & rinsed
-1 can corn, drained & rinsed
-1 red bell pepper, finely diced
-1 orange bell pepper, finely diced
-1/2 green bell pepper, finely diced
-1/2 large red onion, finely diced & rinsed (this gets rid of the sharp flavor)
-1/2 cup finely chopped cilantro
-juice from 3 limes
-1/4 cup olive oil
-1 tsp maple syrup
-1 garlic clove, minced
-1 tsp chili powder
-1 tsp cumin
-1/2 tsp cayenne
-salt + pepper to taste

cook and cool pasta. in a small jar, add lime juice, oil, maple syrup, seasonings and garlic. shake to combine. add all ingredients to a very large bowl and top with the dressing. toss until combined. enjoy right away or later β€” it stores well for days. if you find it to be a little dry after storing it, add some more oil prior to eating.

1️⃣ Foods high in protein. Foods like chicken, turkey, beef, fish, shrimp, greek yogurt, cottage cheese, eggs, are high in protein and will help keep you full. πŸ—πŸ–πŸ₯©
2️⃣ Foods high in fiber. Fiber helps keep you full and is found in fruits and veggies. Incorporate more fiber into your diet. πŸ₯•πŸ†πŸ₯’πŸ…

3️⃣ Foods rich in water. Foods rich in water include watermelon, pickles, and most veggies. Water helps keep you full and the calories of these foods will also be low, so you can eat more. πŸ‰πŸ“πŸ

4️⃣ High satiety foods. Foods like boiled potatoes and oats will help keep you full for a longer period of time. These foods have been shown to be more filling than other carb sources. πŸ₯”πŸ πŸ₯£

bookmark this HEALTHY LENTIL VEGGIE SOUP recipe 🍲✨

ingredients:
2 tbsp olive oil
1 cup diced onion
2 cups diced carrots
1 cup diced celery
5 cups veggie broth
1 15 oz can diced tomatoes
1 cup cut up green beans
1 cup chopped kale
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 cup parsley
2 cups cooked brown lentils
2 cups cooked jasmine rice

how to:
1. In a large soup pot, sautΓ© onion, celery and carrots in olive oil for 5 minutes.
2. Add in green beans, veggie broth, tomatoes, pepper, salt
and parsley. Simmer for 20 min.
3. Add in kale, let it wilt for 2 min.
4. Add in cooked lentils and cooked rice, and serve with your fave crusty bread.
4. eat up besties!
