Students at East Anglia Centre for Alexander Technique seen here enjoying an anatomy session in a very practical way, reassembling a right arm from the individual bones. Jane Gregory, a regular teacher at the Centre, presented this session which was followed up with bean bag throwing overarm and underarm. What a brilliant way to bring the arm anatomy to life and finding out how much of the rest of the body works with the throwing action!! Mr Alexander, pictured here was obviously enjoying the activity too !!

This whiteboard offering is not in need of any caption, just sharing, with fervent hope for a better future. Stop, breathe and come to quiet.

What's this weird picture about? We are currently working with a brilliant teacher, Bruce Fertman. He inspired this picture by saying, if everything we touched had a nervous system, we would naturally be more consciously aware of how we interact with everyday items. Sounds like a great way to remember how to function without tension and with more mindfulness.

Another offering from the Whiteboard!! How many of us actually have any awareness of,

A- the tension we carry and
B- what it's doing to our whole structure,
internally as well as the parts that are visible in the mirror?

We have muscular spirals similar to the spring in this picture and tension stops them from working fully, take the tension out of your thoughts, and unwind.

This weekend we have learned that our work has lost one of our finest teachers, Paul Burge. Paul was a huge influence for me during my training at the Essex Alexander School and, more recently, for the trainees at our course. Paul lived the Alexander Technique, his teaching, especially breathing and voice work was second to none.

Farewell Paul, colleague, mentor, and a dear friend you will be greatly missed xx
