MEET THE TEAM...

Lisa initially trained as a nurse at St Bartholomew’s in London, then worked at the Royal London and Guy’s Hospitals becoming a Sister before training as a midwife which was her original dream career.
Becoming a mother in 1997, she found shift work and a school age child difficult to balance so moved to working as a School Nurse before training to be a Health Visitor. This way she managed a work life balance around her child.
Later in her career, Lisa was successful in securing a job with the Family Nurse Partnership against stiff competition. The training provided has enabled Lisa to gain specialist skills not only in working with first time teenage parents, but also in working together with families and their children, supporting them with parenting, breastfeeding, weaning, sleep and behaviour challenges. In this way, she is very experienced at supporting parents to reach their goals and aspirations.
Lisa is fully DBS checked and insured and keeps up to date with research, attending courses where possible.
During her time as a family nurse, Lisa worked with Buddug and Lindsay and they decided they all felt very passionately about their work with children and families. They use their joint experiences of discussing challenges and successes to inform their practice and be better practitioners: they gain support to better support their families.
Lisa has 25 years’ experience working in the NHS most of which has been spent supporting parents and their children.

MEET THE TEAM...

Lindsay grew up in a small village on the Essex Suffolk border, and studied for her Nursing Degree in Chelmsford over 18 years ago. After time spent nursing in both the hospital and community setting, Lindsay went on to study for her Specialist Community Public Health qualification in Health Visiting. She has worked with children and their families on a one to one basis for over 11 years. During this time, she qualified as a Community Practice Teacher (teaching others to become Health Visitors), and a Baby Massage Practitioner. Three years ago she trained as a Family Nurse, working specifically with teenage parents. She has a particular interest in parent-child attachment, and is skilled at working in partnership with parents to find solutions that are personal to them and their families.

Lindsay has a little boy of her own who has presented many challenges along the way, including CMPA. She can completely empathise with those desperate moments when you'd do anything to "make it better", and can relate to the challenges of trying to establish routines and balance within the family with a little one that just wants cuddles.

MEET THE TEAM....

Buddug trained at The Middlesex Hospital in London and gained experience in A&E nursing and District Nursing before qualifying as a Health Visitor in 1987. Along the way she gained qualifications in midwifery, counselling and baby massage. She also worked as a specialist nurse supporting parents who had experienced a Sudden Infant Death.
For the final 7 years of her career, Buddug worked as a family nurse supporting first time teenage parents. Buddug uses her specialist training on family dynamics, the health and development of babies and toddlers to support and teach parents on how to develop a positive attachment with their child. Buddug has recently retired from the NHS and is now a full-time foster carer with Barnardo’s.
Buddug really enjoys working in partnership with parents, recognising their needs and helping them reach their goals.
