I’m now on holiday until Monday 29th July. All messages and emails will be answered when I get home.

Pregnancy yoga classes are still running while I’m away with Mandy covering the Monday classes and Kierra covering the Saturday classes. There are a few spaces on a Monday and there is space coming up on a Saturday from the 27th July.

During August there are limited classes running, again all booking links can be found via the above link, including September postnatal (August fully booked).

Our breath is such an important tool; how we breathe can influence our nervous system, our energy levels, our stress response (via our nervous system - all is connected), physical tension within the body, our mental state.

In pregnancy we look at different breathing techniques to support us through birth, whatever birth we may have planned. At this time we’re specifically looking at breathing practices to help us stay calm, to tap into a parasympathetic state within our nervous system, through the exhalation and especially keeping that calm and steady.

Different people connect with different techniques so we explore a variety throughout pregnancy yoga classes. Some people love visualisation, some may find visualisation challenging, some may love sound while others may want to run from the room rather than make a sound, some love the use of touch, others may not want hands anywhere near them when they’re giving birth. It’s not a right or wrong, it’s finding what works for you.

If you would like to explore breath, gentle movement and relaxation practices for pregnancy whilst meeting others who are expecting, I have spaces coming up on a Monday evening in Chelmsford from the 24th June or a Saturday in Writtle from July.

Closer to home we do have some availability on our Norfolk Mindfulness for Wellbeing retreat from the 29th November - 2nd December.

This long weekend includes 15 sessions of meditation, relaxation, mindful movement, countryside walking from the door, luxury accommodation, a small group, plenty of downtime and delicious food. An opportunity to step away from technology and to-do lists!

Early in 2025 I'll be offering two retreats in Morrocco for Satvada Retreats.

The first will be a return to central Marrakech from the 27th February to 2nd March, always a favourite! Our beautiful centrally located Riad is a haven for us to practice twice-daily mindful yoga & meditation sessions in the central courtyard whilst you will have the option to explore this vibrant city.

On the 2nd to 5th March for a second retreat we will then head into the Atlas Mountains, to our gorgeous Berber castle-styled accommodation, where we will again practice twice-daily mindful yoga & meditation surrounded by lush gardens and far-reaching views. You will have the option of guided hikes from the door, which many guests say are a highlight of their trip.

These retreats are bookable as stand-alone trips, or you have the option of booking both to explore these different surroundings and make a longer retreat experience.

Update on upcoming availability for pregnancy yoga classes:-

Mondays 6.30-7.30 & 7.45-8.45pm at Hamptons Sport & Leisure, off Beehive Lane in Chelmsford - I have a small number of spaces coming up from the 29th April which can be booked through the link below. There will be a few spaces coming up from in May as people reach their expected due dates, please get in touch if you're interested in starting in May, or if you'd like to go on the waiting list for late June onwards.

Saturdays 10.30am at Hummingbird Pilates & Yoga in Writtle, one space coming up from 11th May, please get in touch if you are interested in this space, or if you would like to go on the waiting list for late May onwards.

Classes include discussion, gentle movement, breathing practices and relaxation. Suitable from twelve weeks and can be continued throughout pregnancy.

Classes are suitable from twelve weeks and can be continued throughout pregnancy.

Small group class includes time for discussion, gentle movements, breathing techniques and relaxation.

Here's a message I received from one of the group yesterday about this weekends class "I really enjoyed the class on Saturday morning, it made me feel so much more relaxed and I haven't had any rib pain since!"

There are a couple people in the class who are due to give birth in March so there will be more space coming up. Please contact me for details or if you have any questions at all!

Next postnatal recovery yoga course starting Wednesday 6th March, 10-11am at Hummingbird Pilates & Yoga.

Four consecutive weeks of therapeutic yoga practices to help your body recovery after pregnancy and birth. Focusing on posture, our deep 'core' muscles, pelvic floor and common areas people may experience discomfort during the postnatal period.

Babies are very welcome to come along to sessions and you will also receive a recording of practices each week.

“I started pregnancy yoga with Vikki in my second trimester and knew that I was going to be having an elective section - I didn’t at the time know about her c section recovery class. Vikki wasn’t aware I was having a section, but in all her yoga classes she spoke so equally and positively about both vaginal and Caesarean births. It made me feel so much more at ease going to her classes in case the discussion was to arise. I found a few pregnancy classes to be very much vaginal discussion only which can be tricky when you’re navigating the world of pregnancy and childbirth! I’m so glad I did find out about the c section recovery class as it has been hugely beneficial for me. It was such an empowering session to speak with other mums and help me to reconnect with my body again. Thank you Vikki”

There can often be a misconception that many areas of support during pregnancy are focused only on vaginal births, such as pregnancy yoga, hypnobirthing or Doula support. This is absolutely not the case so please do reach out whatever your plan is for birth.
