So, a phone call asking for some advice from a student sparked this:-

‘If you’re a multi-skilled therapist do you offer a double treatment?’

The call was regarding a new client (post cancer treatments) now wanting some tlc.

My thoughts were:-

As new to Reflexology we wouldn’t know how her body would respond. Then adding yet another therapy could well overload the body. And, if all was ok post treatment how would we know which had ‘worked’?

However, if a less vulnerable client wanted say, a bns massage due to still neck then flip over for a reflex treatment I see no problem with that.

Which led me to think the different reasons people seek us out!
🌿nurturing tlc
🌿to fix a physical/muscular problem
🌿emotional support
🌿taking responsibility for own health

So, however much it’s nice to do a double-bubble treatment (less washing, less pre- stuff) we really must question the possible outcomes (especially for those most vulnerable). And, it’s especially those people that will reach out for some extended nurturing.

Of course we want to ‘give and help’, (that’s why we came into this profession after all) and a ‘no’ may be hard to say, but an honest explanation and maybe an extended appointment time - not for hands on but for ‘off-load’ may be just the ticket.

This three-part workshop series gently guides you through the foundations of building a business with clarity, confidence and direction. What a fabulous find...... Someone who messaged back immediately, was straightforward, polite, and had the loveliest voice - loved the voice notes! He made the process so smooth and a pleasure. Highly recommend. If you ever need a man with a van, I can highly recommend Ellis from Micromovers.
Such an easy arrangement, fast replies, did exactly what was agreed, on time and great service. Will definitely be using him again.
