You may be eligible for a FREE flu vaccine. The flu vaccine helps protect against flu, which can be a serious or life-threatening illness. It's offered on the NHS every year in autumn or early winter to people at higher risk of getting seriously ill from flu.

The flu vaccine is recommended for people at higher risk of getting seriously ill from flu.

You can get the free NHS flu vaccine if you:

are aged 65 or over (including those who will be 65 by 31 March 2026)
have certain long-term health conditions
are pregnant
live in a care home
are the main carer for an older or disabled person, or receive a carer's allowance
live with someone who has a weakened immune system
Frontline health and social care workers can also get a flu vaccine.
We are open 9.15am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm Monday to Friday and offer a walk in service.

Flu isn’t just a bad cold – it can lead to serious illness, hospitalisation, or even death. Last winter, across mid and south Essex, we saw far too many people admitted to hospital with preventable flu complications.

Getting the flu vaccine is one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect yourself, your family, and your community this winter.

Last winter in mid and south Essex:
Nearly 300 children and young people were admitted to hospital with flu, and more than half of these were emergency admissions.
More than 2,000 adults were also hospitalised with flu, and 3 in 4 of those were emergency admissions.
Most of the people hospitalised hadn’t been vaccinated – yet the flu vaccine can reduce hospitalisations by up to 60% in otherwise healthy individuals.
These figures are a powerful reminder that flu can be serious, even for those who consider themselves healthy. For people with long-term conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, or respiratory problems, the risks are even higher.

Many people still think the flu vaccine is only for older people, but that’s not the case. If you have a long-term health condition such as asthma, COPD, heart disease, kidney or liver disease, diabetes, or a weakened immune system, catching flu can be serious – whatever your age. The free NHS flu vaccine can help prevent serious complications and protect your long-term health.

Getting vaccinated only takes a few minutes, but it provides months of protection. Not just for you, but for those around you. When more people are vaccinated, flu spreads less, helping to protect the whole community.

*Private COVID-19 vaccination service* now available at Melbourne pharmacy.

The pharmacy is also providing NHS covid vaccinations to eligible patients over 75 and those who are immunosuppressed.

Our new PRIVATE vaccine service is a paid service and available to anyone 18 years and above.
Novavax vaccine is a protein based ( non mRNA) like the mRNA-based vaccines it targets a SARS-CoV-2 variant, XBB.1.5, which is a descendant of Omicron. It is the first protein vaccine to appear in more than a year, its encouraging news for people who are hesitant to have the mRNA vaccines that have been used throughout the pandemic. Novavax relies on a more traditional approach in which proteins resembling those in SARS-CoV-2 are injected directly into the body. This protein-based method has been used for more than 30 years in other vaccines, such as the hepatitis B vaccine, it’s is an alternative to the mRNA vaccine.

Verruca needling procedure is a treatment for verruca which has become a more popular treatment method over recent years. It is also known as Falknor Needling. The technique is intended to break down the verruca and create a controlled inflammatory response which, in turn, stimulates the body’s immune system to fight the infection. The treatment is carried out under local anesthetic

Nail surgery is the partial or complete removal of a toenail whilst under local anesthetic. Nail surgery is usually offered when a patient presents with a problematic ingrown toenail that is causing them a lot of discomfort. If the nail cannot be managed conservatively through regular podiatry visits, nail surgery is considered. Nail surgery may sometimes be offered if the nail is damaged due to a fungal infection.
This is a surgical procedure and you will need to see a Podiatrist prior to booking in directly for this procedure. The podiatrist will assess you and discuss with you the process and what to expect pre and post surgery. This procedure is usually carried out for people who are suffering from in growing toe nails and or infected nails.

Verrutop VP Treatment

Verrutop is a new type of wart and verruca treatment. Unlike Cryotherapy or other chemical treatments, Verrutop does not act by freezing or burning the tissue. Instead it denatures the viral protein and desiccates the tissue, which then falls off the skin, leaving intact skin underneath.
Treatment is normally quick and painless.

Lacuna Method

Lacuna Method is a simple and effective treatment for fungal nail infections. This relatively newnail fungus treatment is changing the way Podiatrists deal with fungal nail infections. The Lacuna Method treatment for fungal nails works by painlessly drilling many tiny micro holes (fenestration) into the infected nail plate, all the way through to the skin under the nail (the nail bed). Following the first part of the treatment where the nails are micro drilled, the nails are then treated with an anti fungal spray, which passes through the holes directly to the source of infection, the infected nail bed.
