Pool activity during pregnancy is very beneficial. The water’s buoyancy and resistance make stretching, gentle squatting, balance work, and even relaxed chatting all good for you.
Here’s why each helps:
• Water support reduces pressure on your joints, hips, and lower back
• Gentle squatting in the pool supports hip mobility, leg strength, and pelvic floor awareness with less strain
• Balance improves because the water slows movement and lowers fall risk
• Swelling decreases as water pressure helps circulation
• Chatting while moving is actually a good sign — if you can talk comfortably, you’re staying at a safe intensity (the “talk test”)
As long as:
• You feel comfortable and steady
• Movements are slow and controlled
• You’re not holding your breath
• There’s no pain, dizziness, or contractions
…then you’re doing exactly what’s recommended during pregnancy.
Gentle, supported movement in water is one of the safest and most enjoyable ways to stay active 🤍 ♥️💙💜💛💚🤍🩶🤎🩷. Move, stretch, and relax in the water during pregnancy 🌊
