Anxiety doesn’t just appear out of nowhere…

Even though it can feel like it does.

Not every part of this work is visible.

Today it’s essay writing, session preparation and assessment prep.

Training as an integrative counsellor while working as a hypnotherapist means constant learning and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Growth takes effort.
And so does holding space well.

It’s subtle.
It’s quiet.
But you can feel it.

A pause.
A breath.
An “oh…”

When something finally clicks.

Being part of that never stops being special.

Watching someone join the dots for themselves. Seeing them realise they’re not broken. Seeing self-blame soften into understanding.

As therapists, we don’t fix people.
We create space for them to find their own insight.

And when that lightbulb moment happens, when clarity replaces confusion, you can almost see the weight lift.

It’s such a privilege to sit in that space and witness growth.

Moments like that are why I do this work

Such a simple reminder and such a powerful one.

Anxiety grows when we focus on what we can’t control.
Other people. The future. The past. Outcomes.

Calm begins when we gently return to what we can control:
our thoughts, our actions, our effort, our boundaries.

This is something I work on personally and something I work on with clients every week.
