MATANGI MUDRA
(Matangi Mudra basically serves as an effective practice to digestion and nourishes the circulatory and lymphatic system in the lower body.)

Matangi is one of the Mahavidyas, ten Ta***ic goddesses, she is a form of Parvati as all the Mahavidyas are. She is also considered to be the Ta***ic form of Sarasvati, the goddess of music and learning. Like Sarasvati, Matangi governs speech, music, knowledge and the arts. Her worship is prescribed to acquire supernatural powers, especially gaining control over enemies, attracting people to oneself, acquiring mastery over the arts and gaining supreme knowledge.

Matangi Mudra opens and balances Manipura Chakra, this connection with Manipura Chakra at the navel centre encourages the ability to fully digest and assimilate life experience, leaving the path clear for us to move forward with ease and confidence. Matangi Mudrā directly affects the hypothalamus, the hypothalamus is the primary autonomous part of the nervous system; This mudra helps to establish a state of balance in the body. Practicing this Mudra also helps you to achieve peace with your inner self and with the surroundings. Matangi Mudra cultivates inner heat, reducing lethargy and increasing energy. The Mudra instills a sense of confidence and personal power, creating clarity in our direction. The extended middle finger represents clear direction along your life’s journey as well as the determination to overcome the obstacles that you may meet along the way. The Matangi Mudra benefit the heart, stomach, liver, duodenum, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas and kidneys. Practicing it, altered heart is reassuring in a remarkable way and disappear (for example, feeling of fullness or spasms) internal tensions related to digestion. This Mudra also relaxes diffuse aches and the maxillary tensions.

Method of doing Matangi Mudra:

The other fingers off your left hand should be parallel to the middle finger. Your hands will form a shape like a conch shell, which is where the Shankh Mudra gets its name from (refer the image). We all are looking for healthy, happy and balanced life, but somehow we have failed to understand stress which is disturbing our personal and professional life. Meditation is a simple solution to bring back our happiness at work and at home. Meditation gives us strength to see stress 'AS IS' and pull ourselves out of it. It gives strength and power to think differently when you are detachment from situation. Will share six points to handle stress :

1. Don't take things so personally: Part of what creates stress is thinking that what other people think and do is something that is being done to us, or is a reflection of us or our past karmas.

2. Change your expectations: If you expect a co-worker or family member to always be nice and they continue to be cranky, you'll be disappointed. You are choosing to be disappointed when you expect others to do something even when you have evidence to suggest that the behaviour is highly unlikely.

3. Express your needs: Deciding to take responsibility for meeting your own needs is liberating. Without this decision, you lose time and energy waiting for others to figure out what you need and how, expecting them to deliver. It's up to you to get your own needs met and no one will know what they are better than you.

4. Don't make assumptions: Often we make assumptions about what others are thinking. Catch your assumptions before they become beliefs. Catch them before you take action on something you've assumed, but not verified. You'll be better off learning you were wrong than fixing the wrong action you took as a result of your assumption.

5. Face your feelings: A favourite workplace mantra is "check your emotions at the door." The problem it creates are many, never open the door to face their emotions even when they get home. Feelings that are stuffed create a ticking time bomb of emotions likely to come out at the most inappropriate moment.

6. Use restraint: If you respond to a other's rude comment with a defensive attitude, you'll escalate the stress of the situation for both of you. Try to use restraint in your response to difficult people.

Always remember that, you can't control the actions of others, but by staying Meditative/aware, you can keep your cool, you avoid contributing to continued stressful conversations. It takes two to argue and if you're not the one who starts it and you stay responsible to finish it, you'll likely have much less of it to experience. Remove your part in what creates stressful situations and those who have stress to share will have to go elsewhere. Simply stay aware (meditative) to detach the stress. If you are aware, your stress will help you to grow and will never effect you physically, mentally or emotionally. ~ Sri Satishji

Inside First. Stay Aware. Stay Blessed.

EASY RELAXING METHOD!!!

Begin your relaxing ten minute hand reflexology treatment by pinching the tips of each finger and thumb of your right hand. Reverse and repeat this process on your left hand. The pressure applied to your fingers should be firm, but not painful. A few seconds for each finger tip will do.

1. After pinching the tops and bottoms of your finger and thumb tips go back to each tip and pinch them again, this time squeezing from side to side. Again, apply pressure, a little discomfort is okay. But, it is important not to inflict pain on yourself.

2. Combine steps 3 and 4 rubbing the tops and bottoms (above photo) and also rubbing the sides (step 4 photo) of each finger and thumb. Vigorously rub back and forth from the base to the tip.

3. Combine steps 3 and 4 rubbing the tops and bottoms (step 3 photo) and also rubbing the sides (above photo) of each finger and thumb. Vigorously rub back and forth from the base to the tip.

5. Grasp each finger (and thumb) at its base and tug firmly. Allow your grip to loosen slightly, graduating it from the base to the finger tip until your finger slips out of your grasp completely.

6. Using your thumb and forefinger firmly grasp the webbed area between your thumb and and forefinger of your other hand. Keeping a firm hold, tug at the skin gently until the fleshy web snaps away from your grasp. Repeat this process for the webbed-tween areas on all your fingers.

7. Rest the palm of your hand inside the palm of your free hand. Use your thumb to massage the back of your hand. Leisurely manipulate the knuckles and in between knuckle area first. Continue thumb massaging each area on the back of the hand.

8. Gently cradle your wrist inside your free hand. Use your thumb to massage your inner wrist. This is an especially soothing massage for anyone who routinely uses their wrists in repetitive movements (i.e. computer mousing).

9. Massage the palm of your hand with your thumb. Alternately you can use your knuckle to massage the fleshier mound areas more deeply.

10. At the end of your session press your thumb deeply in the center of your palm. Take a few cleansing breaths and center your being.

This is a opportune moment to relax, clear your mind, and focus on your healing intentions.

If you’re thinking of becoming a yoga instructor, I couldn’t recommend this course enough!!!

Life update warning ⚠️
I first discovered Maya as most people (it seems) did, on a little channel that could, body in balance, at a low point in life, I was just channel hopping and decided to join in there and then, why not I thought!? And ever since I was hooked! I couldn’t believe how great I was feeling, there was something very nostalgic and familiar yet completely new at the same time, I’d finally found something that had given me back my zest for life. I’ve always been a quirky person and this suited me, I could let go and be myself again, and I have Maya’s style to thank for that, so if you’re um-ing and er-ing 🧐 and maybe you feel you need some direction in life, maybe you’re reading this for a reason 🤷‍♂️ I say go for it.

So I just want to say a huge THANK YOU 🙏 to Maya, she’s a wonderful, down-to-earth teacher who will encourage you. I had a bit of a wobbly moment and Maya personally emailed me to let me know things would be ok, I was so incredibly grateful 😇

So here it is, your chance, grab it with both hands, it’s really worth every penny.

Thank you Maya, God bless x x x

HOW TO USE APPLE CIDER VINEGAR

If you are not used to the taste and effects of Apple Cider Vinegar, you might want to include it into your diet gradually. Start by adding 1 teaspoon to a cup of water and drink it once a day. Then, increase the amount of vinegar per serving, and the frequency of drinking. Ideally, you should add 2 tablespoons of vinegar to a cup of water and drink it one to three times a day.

To kick start the metabolism and influence the feeling of fullness, it’s best to drink it about an hour before your meal. As an addition to your pre-meal serving, some also suggest drinking it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.

Apple Cider Vinegar is a very acidic, so you need to dilute it to protect your teeth, throat and the lining of your stomach. Please don’t drink undiluted Apple Cider Vinegar.

How to increase your consumption of Apple Cider Vinegar?
Some find the taste of vinegar difficult to stomach. To improve the flavour, you can add a bit of honey to your vinegar serving. Or, you can drink it with your tea. Wait for he tea to cool a bit before adding two tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar and drink. You can also have vinegar with your meal. It goes will with some soups or you can use it as a refreshing salad dressing.
