Who says Scoliosis has to slow you down? 💪😁

When this young patient first attended, her X-rays showed a 56° right thoracic curve and a 41° left lumbar curve.

Many families are told that once a curve exceeds 50°, surgery is inevitable.

Over three years, with structured bracing and scoliosis-specific physiotherapy exercises, her curves reduced to 42° and 32°.

This doesn’t mean surgery is never needed — but it does show that with the right timing, careful monitoring, and consistent treatment, non-surgical management can make a meaningful difference.

If you’re unsure about your child’s options, get proper advice early.

In 2025, this 12-year-old had a 45° curve.

With a custom high thoracic Scolibrace, we’ve reduced it by 50%! He now needs to wear it & grow straighter.

✨ 3½ years later… and what a difference.

When this young lady first came to see me at 12.5 yrs, she was noticeably lopsided.
Her body was tipping to the left, she had low back pain, and her pelvis was rotated due to shorter sacral and leg bone on one side — effectively making her left leg shorter

She was told there was “nothing wrong.”

But her spine was already developing a 24° low back scoliosis.

Instead of ignoring it, we acted.

✔️ Heel lift to balance her leg length
✔️ Scoliosis bracing
✔️ Ongoing corrective care
✔️ Scoliosis-specific exercises

Now, 3½ years later:

📉 Her curve has reduced from 24° to 13°
🙌 Her low back pain has cleared
📏 Her posture is more balanced

She still has exercises to continue improving her spinal balance — but she has done incredibly well.

The important message?

⏳ Small curves in children don’t always stay small.
🦴 Early correction can make a massive difference.
🚫 “Watch and wait” isn’t always the best option.

If your child looks uneven, tilted, or complains of back pain — trust your instincts and get it checked properly.

👀 Quick question — what do you see here?

This child was told at a hospital that her pelvis was level and that nothing needed doing.

In the first X-ray, you can see the spine and pelvis together.
In the second X-ray, we isolate the pelvis alone.

👇 Before you swipe…
Do you think the pelvis looks level, or lower on the left?

Comment LEVEL or NOT LEVEL below ⬇️

Sometimes Surgery is the best choice (for all sorts of reasons, not just Scoliosis) - but because Degenerative Scoliosis develops as we age, it can continue to worsen, even after surgery. Complementing with bracing, or exercise-based therapy might be the best choice!

This is a really positive scoliosis story of a lady who came in yesterday — with an important lesson 👇

This 26-year-old was diagnosed with scoliosis as a teenager.
Her curve measured 26° at age 14 — and 12 years later, it’s still 26°.

That stability is fantastic news 👍

However, she’s now developing low back pain — not because the curve has worsened, but because her posture and balance have shifted over time, placing extra pressure on joints, discs and nerves.

Many people are told that curves under 30° won’t progress in adulthood — and often that’s true.
But scoliosis isn’t just about the curve size.
How the body adapts around it really matters.

The focus now is on improving posture, re-centring her body, easing strain on the spine, and reducing the risk of future progression — so she can stay active and comfortable as she gets older.

Early awareness and the right support can make a huge difference 💙

New brace day! 🎉

As the body changes, grows and the spine improves, the brace needs to change too — that’s progress in action.

We always love seeing a brace that’s clearly been worn and doing its job 💪
Because results come from consistency.

If you mention Scoliosis, most people will think of teenagers, and probably female ones. That's not a wrong impression - many Scoliosis cases are females around that age, but it's not just girls, and not just the young who develop Scoliosis!
This case is from an adult male over 60 - all cases deserve support! 😎

Treating Scoliosis without surgery

At the UK Scoliosis clinic, we focus on non-surgical treatment and management of Juvenile, Adolescent and Adult Scoliosis. In addition to the traditional exercise and physiotherapy-based approaches we offer the ground-breaking new ScoliBrace system. Developed in Australia, ScoliBrace is (in our professional opinion) the very best non-surgical treatment available for scoliosis.

Our clinic was founded to provide non-surgical treatment for scoliosis based on the latest research and with the SOSORT guidelines as our central principle. SOSORT stipulate that scoliosis treatment should be closely related to the size of a patient’s scoliotic curve and must be individualised for their personal needs – as such all our treatments are provided on a totally customised basis during one to one appointments.

While many treatments are offered for scoliosis, SOSORT stress that certain scoliosis treatments have not been endorsed as effective because of the lack of substantial evidence. For this reason, we provide only approaches which have been clinically proven to be effective.
