We’re really proud to be named Site of the Month for our work on a national stop smoking trial helping pregnant women and birthing people. 💙

The trial is looking at better ways to use ni****ne patches and other Ni****ne Replacement Therapy (NRT) to support people to quit smoking during pregnancy. Quitting smoking while pregnant is one of the best things that can be done to support a baby’s health. 👶

So far, 13 people have joined the trial at the Trust, and our team is working hard to support even more.

Well done to our amazing Research Midwife, Tracey Benn, and Health in Pregnancy Advisors, Sandy Brock and Wendy Govier, for their brilliant work!

Since launching our respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccination programme in September, our maternity services team has successfully administered over 2,000 vaccinations to protect parents and babies against RSV.

RSV is a serious condition which can make it difficult for new born babies to breathe. 20,000 infants need hospital treatment for RSV each year.

Pregnant women are eligible for a free RSV vaccine to protect their babies from serious lung infections. You can get your vaccine from 28 weeks of pregnancy by attending one of our walk-in vaccination clinics.

📍 Location: Women’s Outpatients, Floor 2, Great Western Hospital
🕒 Opening Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 15:30
