⚠️Winter bugs are here already and we know there’s a lot of flu and sickness across Gloucestershire.

👩‍⚕️Please only attend the two Emergency Departments if it’s a life threatening or serious injury.

❌ Please don’t visit hospital if you have any symptoms. Together we can minimise spread and protect vulnerable patients.

🩺 Get advice on your healthcare options at NHS 111.

📱111 in Gloucestershire works alongside a doctor led assessment service and can book you into local services if needed.

Finished with your crutches or walking frame? Help us help others!

If you've recently used crutches or a walking frame and no longer need them, we’d love to have them back! ♻️ By returning your equipment, it can be cleaned, refurbished, and used again by other patients who need it. 🙌

You can easily drop them off at either site Gloucestershire Royal Hospital or Cheltenham General Hospital – just bring them straight to the Emergency Department (ED).

Your small act makes a big difference! 💙

You may have read in the press that GP practices have to offer online systems for requesting appointments from today.

We are working towards this as fast as we can. Because so many practices are doing this at the same time, the suppliers of the new computer systems seem to be struggling to get all the practices up and running.

We have taken the decision to delay things for a few weeks, until we can be sure the system works properly, to ensure patient safety.
Rest assured, we are working hard to achieve this aim, please bear with us in the meantime, and continue to contact us by phone where possible.

Thank you,
Stoke Road Surgery

The NHS bowel cancer screening kit can detect signs of cancer before you notice anything is wrong.

If you’re sent a bowel cancer screening kit, put it by the loo. Don’t put it off.

In order to make sure that the NHS has correct addresses for patients, messages are sent out from time to time to confirm your address. These messages do not come from the GP surgery, and many people ignore them, thinking they are spam. However, if you do not confirm your address within 3 months of receiving the message you may be deregistered from the practice list. This means that you would need to apply to register again if you needed GP services. This also means that you might miss important notifications from the NHS, such an invitations for screening or vaccinations.

The messages asking for confirmation of address may be sent by email, text message or by letter in the post.

• Emails are sent from NHS Confirm your address: nhs.confirm.your.address@notifications.service.gov.uk
• Text messages are sent from NHSdetails

The text message looks like this, and WILL NOT CONTAIN ANY LINKS

The emails have a link in them, which goes to to https://change-your-address.account.nhs.uk

The letters have options to confirm or change your address information, and include a prepaid envelope to send back your reply.

If you already know you're no longer in your GP surgery's catchment area, you should register with a new GP surgery. This takes about 15 minutes and will automatically update your address on your NHS record.
