Hello 👋 and a happy Friday to you lovely friends 😊. How are you doing? What's new with you? I haven't posted on the grid in a while, so decided to check in. Also, my is back and I am wearing latest dress, peep the matching mask? More about that in a later post 😁

Since my journey began, I have found it very interesting that I, Agwuda, can create a piece of clothing to wear..believe me it never crossed my mind as something I'd ever do, but bubbled up some opportunities if I may say.

Continued from my last post. I am absolutely in love with my latest creation. Love that is bright and in a fabric I would never have considered 😉.

First attempt at a hoodie hacked into a dress, graded it 1inch bigger at the hips, which wasn't necessary at the end, since it's a stretch fabric.

The fabric was such a delight to work with and I was so happy seeing this camou print online, but imagine my delight when I went to Southampton and spotted it. Literally, did a happy dance 💃💃.

Majorly, for all my projects, I have bought fabrics online, so shopping in store and feeling them against my skin was a different experience altogether 😊

Off to make another one, probably with colour blocking 😁 this time around.

21 - 27 September 2020 is National Eye Health week in the UK. It is a week dedicated to creating awareness on the importance of looking after the eyes 👀

According to the National Eye Research centre, about 2 million people currently in the UK currently live with eye loss and that number is expected to double by 2050🤯. So more than ever before, we need to educate ourselves and take steps in order to reduce the impact of this.

Steps could include any or all of the following:

1. Having regular eye tests with an optometrist (optician) is one of the ways to ensure your eyes are healthy.

2. Eliminating smoking if you do.

3. Protecting your eyes from the sun's UV rays by using sunglasses and eye protectors with UV filters 😎

4. Eat healthy by incorporating foods such as spinach, citrus fruits, peanuts (if you don't suffer from allergies) and oily fish into your diet. 🍎🍐🍇🧅🥦🥬🍒
They contain various vitamins that can help maintain the overall health of your eyes and body in general.

Sometimes you don't get it right and that's okay. The lesson is in the journey not necessarily the destination😉

If you've been following me for a while, you will know I recently picked up sewing as a hobby. I watch videos online and try to sew along. My recent assignment was to make an off shoulder top which is pictured 👇🏽. However, it didn't turn out well and I am going to take it apart and retrace my steps. It is daunting and disappointing to say the least, but I will keep trying. So don't give up in whatever you do.
